So like everyone else, I was rather happy with Atla Palani's design. Eggs (the creature, not the deck type) are very under-utilized and while there have been a few that are just kinda foreshadowing for what's to come, there is now a commander for them specifically. Sadly however there are only I believe 5-6 relevant color wise, so we'll use what we can with the ever versatile changelings to help round them out a bit.

This does however lead us into what they are a mechanism for, which is to say typically cheating out large creatures. Now one can certainly add as many eldrazi titans, praeters, primordials etc as they like and they will have in effect what is the evolution of the old Mayael decks. Good fun in and of itself, but a bit played out if I do say so. I would like to challenge the big creatures for something a bit more thematic. Now there are two tribes I have recently become interested in: Angels and Wurms. Now Wurms are kinda mid to late sized creatures. obviously not quite as massive as the classics, but chungus enough to be a threat. Angels are one of those prototypical high fantasy creature that I am usually not all that enamored with. Dragons, demons, angels are usually just a turn off for me, but I think from a mechanical stand point, they could do well in a Naya colored deck. They inherently have combat evasion, and typically vigilance or some other useful combat related thing or support for your field. The more I think about them in magic terms I think I might try both and see how it work out for either.
