I played several 3 pod multiplayer games last week. (a less than 4 player game is usually bad for the deck) The first one is a free for all against a voltron and a dimir. I won that with damage prevention and Starfield of Nyx. The second was a diplomacy against Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire and the same dimir player. The game quickly became an archenemy, I killed Vaevictis a several times, but the guy was ramped hard, so our lands were screwed. In the second game, we had a draw after an hour of grind. So I made some changes based on the experience:
- I need more ways to deal with annoying commanders and Targaryen dragons. So I removed Damping Sphere and added Gideon's Intervention. I have tax effects to deal with infinite combos.
- Bitterblossom is not so useful beside chump block and taking back the monarch. I added Grave Titan, because it is a better token engine and also a dumb beater, like Ser Gregor Clegane.
- Monarch matters cards: I cut Custodi Lich, because it only hits one player. Usually I want to put the monarch in play once, so I don't really need it's triggered ability. I try Twilight Prophet instead. It is a draw engine, a flyer and a wincon, so overall a better card. I keep Skyline Despot for a while, but I add Dragonmaster Outcast in the maybeboard to replace it.
- I left out some important cards from the manabase, like Bojuka Bog so I added them.
- Exquisite Blood is a good card, but it also makes me the target and doesn't win the game. I try out Wound Reflection, because it can be really painful with extort and tax effects.
- Skysovereign, Consul Flagship - It adds nothing to the game plan, but it was surprisingly useful. I keep that for a while and I add Champion's Helm and Mother of Runes to the maybeboard, because some extra protection for my creatures would be nice.
- Also, I'm a huge fan of the new C18 card Xantcha, Sleeper Agent
. It's not the strongest card, awful against sac engines, but the flavor is perfect for this deck.


The Queen steps down

When playing with this deck it always felt like I just couldn't quite do exactly what I wanted to, something was always missing. While it was a lot of fun to play, that feeling kept nagging me. Finally I've decided to try and fix the issue by retiring Queen Enchantress and replacing it with [King Enchanter](http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/kt-enchanter/). Hopefully the kings will provide me with the cards I need to make the deck feel more complete!

Built it on mtg arena with a few cards swapped out until I can get the last couple cards, but I do have to say it's damn fun with the current deck list. Still want to test it with Patient Rebuilding. It's more versatile than I thought for early, mid, and win conditions. Control, ramp, draw, mill! I've sent entire decks to the graveyard and I gotta say it feels good!

Fixing the deck

After some testing, I realized the mill and discard had to be tweaked! I still wanted to keep some, so instead I tried to implement similar cards as creatures! I am very pleased with the changes and I managed to keep a lot of cool cards!

Finally! With Commander 2018 we got an esper zombie, Varina, Lich Queen! Entreat the Dead was also added to the deck.
The deck was also updated to make it run smoother (updated mana base) and run some better card options than some of the ones I had in here.

First of all, I'm back to the Minnesota magic scene. The Kansas game store was a nice place with nice people, but I'm glad to be home. Now I can actually play magic more than 1 night per week.
Tonight I finished 2-1 after 3 rounds and then split in round 4. $10 entry, $16.50 store credit in winnings. A good night if I do say so myself.
Round 1: RG Titan Shift. Game 1 we both durdled. He got stuck on 4 lands for a bit while I cracked fetchlands and didn't play anything. Eventually I got a snapcaster and then a Gurmag Angler, which he double bolted to death. K-command brought it back. He got a Prime Time, but I Terminated it and got there with Tasigur. Game 2 was very durdly as well. I didn't get a threat for a long time but I was holding Countersquall for awhile. He played Scapeshift, I countered it, then he played a 2nd Scapeshift in the same turn which I didn't have another counter for. Game 3 I also played very slow. I Thoughtseized away a Bloodbraid Elf, Mana Leaked a Ruric Thar, the Unbowed. I held up counters the rest of the game as he failed to do anything relevant.
Round 2: RG ramp devotion? The deck tried to go Primeval Titan into Kessig Wolf Run and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. Game 1 he ramped while I played Young Pyromancer and made a few tokens. It was a very close game. He had Wolf Run and many creatures, but Terminate into snap-terminate with Pyromancer and Tasigur beats got there. Game 2 I played 2 Delver of Secrets Flip early. 1 of them died to Huntmaster of the Fells Flip flipping. The other went the distance. He drew a lot of lands.
Round 3: Bant Eldrazi. Need I say more? This matchup is laughable. So unwinnable.
Round 3: Grixis Death's Shadow. We played 1 game (I got color screwed) and then split prizes. Total finish: 2-1-1.
Delver of Secrets Flip was fine tonight, but perhaps Thing in the Ice Flip would have been better. It's tough to say.

With most of the Discord wanting to increase warp density, I will be adding Nexus of Fate *list* in place of a basic forest. 29 lands is the absolute lowest that this deck can go before having a significant chance of bricking often. If I feel like I need to increase back to 30 lands, I think the right move is to cut waterveil or one of the lease relevant attackers. lets try this for now though.
