So if your like me and you played during the Lorwyn Block then you most likely played Merfolk so my usual gaming groups are control or big stompy stuff. So I figured why not have some fun and make a deck that's a tad bit control, a tad bit combo, and whole lot of fun.

Protection

Sygg, River Guide is key to a few things in this deck for just 1 white and a colorless he protects not only himself but any other merfolk on your field.

Tutors

Vedalken Athermage (Wizardcycle it by paying 3 colorless and discarding it to find any Wizard you would like.) Which is good in our case because most merfolks in our deck Wizards.

Merrow Harbinger ( Play him on the field and when he ETB's find any Merfolk card you want reveal it and then place it on your library)

Seahunter (When he's out on the field pay three tap him down then search for any Merfolk card and put it directly into play) Down ide is he isn't a Merfolk and you need to wait a turn due to summoning sickness to tap him. Brightside is he get's you any Merfolk card you want IF it's a permanent.

Mystical Tutor (Find any Instant or Sorcery you desire)

Muddle the Mixture (Is not only a counter spell but also you can Transmute it for 2 blue and a colorless discard it and find any 2 mana card desire)

Personal Tutor ( Grab any sorcery you would like)

Idyllic Tutor or Enlightened Tutor ( Two prime targets are always Opposition or Intruder Alarm but remember you don't have to always go for them but they are combo pieces which is something I'll get into later down the list.)

Combos

Now the great thing about going Merfolk tribal is not only do you get protection with Sygg but alot of them synergize with each other.

So the Cards you need for combos in this deck are

Capsize Summon the School Azami, Lady of Scrolls Surgespanner Fallowsage Drowner of Secrets Paradise Mantle Stonybrook Schoolmaster Judge of Currents Grimore Thief Intruder Alarm Opposition

Intruder Alarm + Opposition + Stonybrook Schoolmaster = Infinite Tokens

Azami, Lady of Scrolls + Stonybrook Schoolmaster + Paradise Mantle + Intruder Alarm = Infinite Tokens, Mana, and Draw

(First you attach the Paradise Mantle to Stonybrook Schoolmaster and tap it for mana producing a token and triggering Intruder Alarm and then you attach then rinse and repeat till you get the appropriate cards) OR if you wanna be that guy just keep playing Blue Sun's Zenith when you draw it dump all the floating mana into it and make everyone draw out your library (Now I do know that you can deck your self out which is why blue sun is the perfect card cause it keeps shuffling back in)

Paradise Mantle + Stonybrook Schoolmaster + Intruder Alarm + Surgespanner = Infinite tokens, Mana, and Bounce

Now the other cards I mentioned can go within any combination of any combo to either deck out your opponents, exile their decks, or bounce everything back to your hands

Now one card I didnt mention that is the King Pin in this deck is Wanderwine Prophets. Now by having him and Sygg on the field as well as any other merfolks you can go infinite turns by giving Wanderwine Prophets protection from the color of your choice and then swinging in and sacing a merfolk and swinging in again
