My edit on Ezuri

Commander / EDH

Ripper882

So I bought the Ezuri commander deck and then edited it. The combos I can currently remember will be addressed. I should mention that Ezuri says at the beginning of combat. You don't have to attack at the beginning of combat. It can be an empty phase where you do nothing but give counters to someone. Almost every creature in this deck can benefit from having counters on it unless it has an alternative purpose in the deck from attacking or blocking.

I also suggest replacing cards like Mosswort Bridge Llanowar Reborn Novijen, Heart of Progress

First step is to get Ezuri out there on the field. I have a lot of land fetch in this deck for that purpose. Once you do get him you start casting your creatures and other spells that give you creatures. You can cast things before he gets out to block and such but it's important to get him out to rack up those counters.

Combo-ish things:

Strong Token Generation Arachnogenesis Hangarback Walker Mycoloth Chasm Skulker Hooded Hydra

Weaker Token Generation Hornet Nest Sekki, Seasons' Guide Avenger of Zendikar Followed Footsteps Arachnogenesis Hornet Queen card:funal sprouting Rite of Replication Docent of Perfection

Good to have out Vigor Champion of Lambholt Asceticism

I like to use Bioshift when in a pinch to save the token I have put on a creature and keep them from being wasted.

I would say having unblockables in this deck, even 1/1s is really good. Which is why I included Invisible Stalker for his hexproof and unblockable and Cephalid Pathmage for his tap ability and unblockable. It's important that when you get these out you don't put any counters on them till you're sure they can take a player out. The opponents tend to focus on the big guys with dice on them but what you need to do is keep your secret weapons on the low. Pump counters into mycoloth to quickly ramp up in counters or be reckless with the hydra/hangarback/skulker to get their tokens out. There's a lot of things in this deck that give trample to anything with a +1/+1 counter on it so you can make use of that and scare them into removing it.

Infinite turns Sage of Hours once you get five counters on Ezuri, play him. If you want to get the sage out faster use Vedalken AEthermage to search for him or another useful wizard like the cephalid pathmage or filigree sages.

Infinite Mana Doubling Cube Filigree Sages together can give you infinite mana and using aethermage to get them out can help quite a bit.

Panharmonicon gives Ezuri an extra counter for each creature that comes out, extremely useful for the ramp.
