Melody of Teachings | Yisan EDH

Commander / EDH* Mono-Green Multiplayer Toolbox

Spootyone

Toolbox EDH to suit your needs whenever you need them!

This is a WIP toolbox EDH deck designed for multiplayer play due to it's fairly low power level. This deck is a 75% deck, meaning it is more meant for fun than for winning every game, but has the ability to win when given the chance and when played with skill.

A toolbox deck is one that has two things. First, a wide variety of creatures/spells or "tools" that each suit specific and sometimes quite niche situations. Second, a way to go and grab them as needed. A comparable archetype would be modern Birthing Pod decklists.

Yisan is able to tutor for a number of creatures with board-affecting abilities to fit the need at that particular time. The greatest part of him is that he allows us to do this at instant speed, something previously only feasibly done with Chord of Calling. There are a variety of tactical choices to be made at each CMC number to make sure I am not stuck with a bad option.

Power Conduit is a great combo piece for this deck in general

How can we further alter the number of counters when needed?

Alright, so how exactly do you win? Just piss people off?

--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--

NO! In fact, you couldn't be further from the truth with that statement. This deck, in fact is more meant to act as a political body seeing over the game at hand. Use politics to your advantage and only smite those who people feel are taking over the game or who are being unnecessarily mean to you :(

Hooowevvvverrr....we do wish to win the game eventually. When the time is right, find your time to strike. In playtesting, I've found that getting a board of creatures of varying types is fairly easy if no one is wiping every turn. At this point, it's fiarly straightforward to grab Noble Quarry and attack in with a bunch of them and/or drop a Craterhoof Behemoth to swing in for lethal. Other options can include overwhelming with huge beaters such as Pelakka Wurm , Chameleon Colossus, Hornet Queen, etc. Hydra Omnivore has the unique ability to handle multiple people in one sitting, and both Vigor and Elderscale Wurm can act as an aggressive or defensive creature.

Lightning Greaves and Darksteel Plate are in here to protect Yisan or our current win-condition.
