Whoever said Edric was aggro?

Commander / EDH

tbl345

There are two ways to play Edric (besides some fringe lists):

Using overrun effects to win

or...

Chaining extra turns to win

After a couple of play tests on tapped out, it quickly becomes evident which is the superior style of Edric.

If you hadn't guessed, it's chaining extra turn spells together.

This Edric deck plays more like a combo deck than an aggro deck, similar to taking turns in modern. Get as many weenies out as you can before turn 3, when you cast Edric. Start chaining extra turns on turn 4(if you have ramp), or turn 5 or 6 if not. Protip: try to start chaining turns with a reserve extra turn spell or recursion in hand if you want to stop fizzling.

Now, you are probably going to ask, "How do you deal with lifegain?". The answer is simple:

Step 1: Play Nephalia smuggler

Step 2: Play Eternal Witness

Step 4: Cast extra turn spell

Step 5: End turn

Step 6: Activate Nephalia Smuggler targeting Eternal Witness

Step 7: Eternal Witness enters targeting extra turn spell

Step 8: Repeat steps 4-7 any number of times

P.S. Super secret tech: use beacon of tomorrows for infinite turns
