Many people build and play Azami, Lady of Scrolls as a Wizard tribal deck. While Wizard tribal can work in a casual meta, a more combo oriented build is more efficient. Azami, Lady of Scrolls is a combolicious commander when paired with Mind Over Matter. This deck aims to achieve just that as early as possible to win with Laboratory Maniac.

1. Opening Hand

Your opening hand is the most important thing with Azami, Lady of Scrolls. Making sure you have at least a 0 cost mana rock like Mox Diamond, along with a few lands to get started. You should look out for dig spells like Anticipate, too.

2. Goals

The ultimate goal of this deck is to win with Laboratory Maniac. The below combos will assist you with that strategy.

Hitting Mind Over Matter should be your main goal. If it resolves, you can win at instant speed. Additionally, netting infinite mana with High Tide and Palinchron will let you cast Azami, Lady of Scrolls again and again with a sacrifice outlet, netting X cards.

3. Combos

Azami, Lady of Scrolls + Mind Over Matter: This combo lets you draw out your deck. Make sure you have three mana open to cast Laboratory Maniac!

High Tide + Palinchron: Nets you infinite mana.

Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal + Mana Crypt: Nets you infinite card draw, mana, or whatever you have that isn't a land!

4. Issues

The biggest downfall for this list currently is the severe lack of the generic tutors which black allows you access to. Blue tutors mainly target instant and sorcery cards, so you should use these to find Long-Term Plans, which works wonders in this deck.
