Suggested Targets:

With Clavileno, First of the Blessed in the command zone, this is first and foremost a vampire tribal deck that wants to attack early and often. The goal is to go wide by creating a bunch of vampire tokens through cards like Legion's Landing  , Charismatic Conqueror, Mavren Fein, Dusk Apostle, and March of the Canonized. Then apply the pressure by pumping up your army with cards like Legion Lieutenant and Etchings of the Chosen or by causing direct life loss with cards like Sanctum Seeker and Malakir Bloodwitch.

The is also an aristocrats deck, which means you are seeking to sacrifice your creatures for profit. The most obvious profit comes from Clavileno, who effectively turns each sacrificed creature into a 4/3 vampire demon with flying while also drawing a card (assuming the sacrificed creature already attacked and gained those abilities from Clavileno, which is obviously your preferred sequence). The vampire creature tokens already mentioned make great sacrifice fodder, as do creatures you can get back from the graveyard such as Bloodghast and Oathsworn Vampire. Sacrifice outlets include Yahenni, Undying Partisan, Viscera Seer, and Bartolome del Presidio, which bring additional profit such as scrying and +1/+1 counters. To get even more advantage from all the dying creatures, the deck contains aristocrat "drain and gain" staples such as Blood Artist, Cruel Celebrant, and Falkenrath Noble.

Perhaps the most powerful aspect of the deck is its resiliency. Due to Clavileno's ability to turn your dying creatures into even bigger threats (4/3 vampire demons with flying!) you do not need to be afraid of board wipes. In fact, you welcome them and may even want to initiate them on your own. Use wipes like Austere Command, Damn, and Olivia's Wrath to delay your opponents while making your own board state even more threatening. The deck's alternate commanders, Carmen, Cruel Skymarcher and Elenda, the Dusk Rose, are especially excited by Single Combat and Tragic Arrogance, both of which can keep either Carmen or Elenda alive while adding to them a huge number of +1/+1 counters. Forerunner of the Legion can be used to tutor for either Carmen or Elenda (or any other vampire). Another great vampire to tutor for is Dusk Legion Sergeant, which will bring back all of your creatures that die in a single turn, allowing you to plan for a big sacrificial sequence or self-inflicted boardwipe. You can also bring creatures back from your graveyard with cards such as Bloodline Necromancer and Redemption Choir.

In search of New Blood, the vampires advance
With skill to captivate and entrance
Led by Clavileno, First of the Blessed
Carefully plotting the legion’s conquest

With the help of Carmen, Cruel Skymarcher
The vampires await the time of departure
Under Promise of Loyalty and Liliana's Contract
Each Oathsworn Vampire is ready to attack

With a Bloodtrackerand an Heirloom Blade
The vampires lurk in the fog and shade
Each Isolated Chapel and Secluded Courtyard
Is a death sentence for anyone not on guard

Will you resist the vampire’s charm?
Or succumb to their seductive harm?
With Clavileño in the lead
The vampire legion will succeed

I am a casual, budget player and my goal is to always keep my commander decks within $100 or close to it. Any suggestions to improve the deck while still keeping it within budget are appreciated!
