The focus of this deck is on utilizing Urza, Lord High Artificer to its fullest. It relies on building a big mana pool - going infinite with Pili-Pala/Grand Architect, Power Artifact/Basalt Monolith, Basalt Monolith/Rings of Brighthearth, and/or Isochron Scepter/Dramatic Reversal - and using Urza, Lord High Artificer's third ability to draw through the deck.

During the game cards like Static Orb, Winter Orb, and Propaganda will lock the opponent(s) down, while Mirrodin Besieged and Sai, Master Thopterist will provide value and protection via 1/1 Tokens, which can be used as draw engines with Skullclamp and Sai's own ability. For additional draw cards like Echo of Eons and Blue Sun's Zenith help dig through the deck to those missing combo pieces to finish off your opponents.

Win conditions are: 1) Painter's Servant and Grindstone, 2) Blue Sun's Zenith (with infinite mana), 3) Big creatures such as Blightsteel Colossus and Darksteel Colossus, 3) Storm via Capsize/Aetherflux Reservoir, and 5) Mirrodin Besieged against artifact hate decks. Urza, Lord High Artificer's five mana ability & infinite mana speed up how quickly these come online.
