Heedless One Discussion

Livingham on Commander 2017 announced, arriving in... ...

This may just be because I played Onslaught as a kid but I always think of the following cards when I think of tribes: Heedless One, Reckless One, Nameless One, Doubtless One, and Soulless One.

Zombies, elves, and goblins are almost definitely going to be made into decks and wizards is a fairly popular tribe so it's definitely possible. If they were following this theme then it's very likely they dropped it to 4 decks just because cleric tribal isn't incredibly popular. To be honest, I don't really want to see any of these tribes being represented in Commander 2017 seeing as there's already so much available for building around these tribes, although that's just more of a reason for Wizards to use them.

Cards i would cut:- Defiant Elf- Elvish Herder- Elvish Pioneer- Elvish Soultiller- Gamekeeper- Heedless One- Realm Seekers- Skyshroud Ranger- Winnower Patrol- Wren's Run Vanquisher- Timberwatch Elf- Elven Fortress- Fog- Counterspell- Second Wind

Hey bud, The deck overall looks fairly fun to pilot, but i think it may run into some small issues. The "Tap" Theme is always one i have been super interested in. In fact, I have built a hand full of tap decks myself. I think your issue is, neither of you generals tap themselves. Therefore more slots need to be dedicated to finding the true commander of your deck Priest of Titania, Selvala, Heart of the Wilds, Wirewood Channeler, and Elvish Archdruid. You might have enough redundancy to find at least 1-2 per game, but if you lose one or unfortunately don't draw one, you might have a few dead cards in hand. I think with the heavy investment in tap, you should either consider creature tutors, or big draw (which has synergism with your mana).

As for the removal / fog i recommended to cut. They are ok, but if you are able. I would much rather use a repeatable one like Constant Mists or Forbid.

Regardless what you do, i am sure it will be awesome though!

Ahhhh, I love me some Elvish fun.

First thing I would do is drop 8 Forest and add 4 Elvish Mystic and 4 Llanowar Elves. I don't think your Allosaurus Rider will notice the lower land base. Plus it will help trigger your other stuff like Elvish Vanguard , Heedless One , Jagged-Scar Archers and give fodder to tap to activate Voice of the Woods without much worry.

Hi, Welcome back. If you want to go all in on a theme, tribal elves is a pretty good choice. If you do i'd probably cut your enchantments and some of the nonelf cards. If you want other removal i'd use Eyeblight's Ending or Eyeblight Massacre. One good thing about elves is all the lords that buff your team likeElvish Archdruid Also T: Add G for each elf you control.Elvish Champion Also grants ForestwalkImperious Perfect also create 1/1 green Elf Warrior creature token.Joraga Warcaller Grants +x/+x based on the +1/+1 counters on it.As for other good elf cards you could look into, you could try Heedless One, Elvish Harbinger,Elvish Promenade, Llanowar Elves, and Elvish Mystic. Elvish Harbinger can search for any elf card, even ones that arent creatures like the promenade or ending. Sorry if all this is a bit much(and you might not want to include all these suggestions at the same time), I wrote more that I expected. Either way, elves is considered one of the strongest tribal deck for a reason, there is so much support for it. You have some good elves in there already, its a good start.

Thanks for your comment BladeSharkX!

  • Siege Behemoth: and needs to attack as well, meh. I prefer higher damages with trample, as it kills off opposing creatures as well. Would rather consider a return of Overwhelming Stampede as it basically doubles strength.
  • Drove of Elves: Hexproof and number of green permanents, interesting. This far i prefered to go wide instead of big, but i'll try to get my hands on one of these.
  • Heedless One: I consider it worse than Drove of Elves. I'll try that one out first and if it works i'll try this minor version maybe.

Either way, thanks again for your comment and taking the time to look through the deck in detail. :)

kaysa? Imperious Perfect would be better!

add a sol ring (always).

Khalni Hydra would be good in this deck.

Taunting Elf instead of defiant elf.

Overrun, and Triumph of the Hordes as game finishers.

Heedless One, Door of Destinies.

I'm liking this so far!

keep it up!
