Hey guys,

I’ve been playing Magic for a long time, on and off. I first started playing when Invasion was released was a young kid. I’ve always just played casual games, 60 card decks where anything goes as long as it wasn’t too busted. I’ve always been a bit of Johnny Combo player / control player.

I discovered EDH a few years ago and found the idea of a singleton format very interesting. Now I brew up EDH decks in my spare time for something to do.

I own 2 of the decks on my profile, the Tatyova, Benthic Druid deck and the Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper

This year I plan to finish my Urza, Lord High Artificer deck, along with a Yawgmoth, Thran Physician deck and look to build the Chulane, Teller of Tales deck I have posted on here too.

I try to make the EDH decks that I brew a reasonable price, that could easily be budgeted down if you wanted to base something off them. I try to make them strong enough to hold their own at any table, barring cEDH.

If anybody wants to give this deck a +1 that’d be cool. Would be nice to get to 10upvotes (I know that’s not loads but double digits looks nice)

Any feedback or criticism welcome, but it does do pretty well atm at fnm, need to get my hands on a Finale of Devastation so I can tutor up Avenger of Zendikar for an instant win.

Thanks :)

If you’re looking to cut a few cards I’d maybe just cut a few basics, your commander helps you ramp + you seem to have a good few ramp cards in the deck too, I tend to run about 35-38 lands per normal list, land matters I’d go 40 max. Since you’re more than then maybe cut 2 forests and a plains? Or look at some of your non basics and see if they need to be there. Personally I’m not a huge fan of Arch of Orazca because I think 5 mana for 1 card is too much, you could run Mikokoro, Center of the Sea instead, yes it gives each opponent a card but your commander does that too. I also don’t think Stirring Wildwood is great, maybe Riftstone Portal would be better for mana fixing.

Also maybe you could run Quest for Renewal or Seedborn Muse to get your commander to activate each turn instead of just on yours.

Triumph of the Hordes I know it’s not cheap but you do have a cyclonic rift in here? Fits the flavour or Ezuri being all phyrexian now.

Lightning Runner could be good here? If you copy it you could also get infinite combo steps.

Also Broodbirth Viper is extremely strong.

+1 :)

Thanks for the feedback.

I do know about Kindred Discovery and it was in the list originally but it would only win with an Impact Tremors effect in play, otherwise you just deck yourself. So Instead of that I though running Sage of the Falls would be better, because it lets me me loop by discarding an Eldrazi titan or choose to stop at any time as it has a “may” trigger.

I do like the other cards, definitely the obelisk and coat of arms!

Thanks :)

You could maybe cut a couple of basics for Mana Confluence and Reflecting Pool

Also Mental Misstep could work well for you as another 0 mana spell.

Maybe Transmute Artifact as budget doesn’t seem to be a huge issue for you?

Is the main win con storm effects with the reservoir? If so you could add in Brain Freeze to mill everyone out?

I think it looks pretty good so far

davidsays1 I’ll have a look.

It’s a locust god deck, so the aim is draw loads with Whirlpool Rider effects and then kill everyone with lots of bugs

I’m unsure, not too competitive as I don’t play cedh. This ones on the back burner for a while. I may take in more of a Winter Orb way but I’m undecided atm

The budget is just as and when I can get cards really. I’m not going to spend silly money on fetches I don’t need, but I would potentially spend on Academy Ruins for example.

Thanks for the comments.

I would consider Bloodsoaked Champion but I haven’t found it to struggle getting access to one of the other lines.

I do own Yawgmoth and he would be a good inclusion, but I kind of what to have him in his own deck as the general and don’t want to buy another, because... money.

Smothering abomination is a very good idea. I might wait for trophy to rotate out before buying one to see if it drops in cost.

I’ve honestly only got bridge to get me a zombie for Gravecrawler so could cut.

I’ve added in Protein Hulk - which can sac to tutor up a combo win.

I love the instant flavour in the description.

“Even more efficient”, very Phyrexian.

I have been trying to come up with a sold Yawgmoth build and I can not fault this list, except MAYBE Nyx Lotus could be added in if you like it.

Nice, what about Altar of Dementia ?

I thought I’d put Karn's Bastion in! I’m not too keene on Grim Affliction as it’s a only going to work once,

Contagion Clasp & Attrition both great shouts, can’t believe I’ve missed them as they’re a shoe in any sac deck.

Endrek could fit in too, I’m currently thinking of what to cut as there’s a few in the maybe board I want to add in too haha.

Thanks for the upvote

Fair enough, I personally prefer pili pala is all. I run both combos in my Urza deck without using polymorph. I just think that when tyrant hits the battlefield it can be removed easily or spells you cast to bounce other spells can be countered. So was just offering food for thought :)

Trinisphere ?

Also another combo you could use would be Grand Architect & Pili-Pala this might be more efficient than tidespout because all you’re doing is activating mana abilities which don’t use the stack so can’t be countered, the only bit that could be countered would be making pili-pala blue, but it’s a lot rarer to come across “counter target activated ability”.

Where as tidespout leaves open a lot of opportunities to counter a piece of it.

Hey, nice deck! I love abusing planar bridge :)

I don’t know what to suggest to cut, a process I do when cutting is outline a few categories within the deck and then start filling them with the cards in the deck. If there are cards that fit into more than one category then they’re an obvious keep, with cards that only fit in one category getting the cut.

You may like the look of these though.

Etherium Sculptor

Master Transmuter

Grand Architect + Pili-Pala for infinite

If you did run twiddle you could run Isochron Scepter, also Dramatic Reversal + Isochron Scepter seems to suit your game plan.

I hope this comment was helpful :)

Happy brewing

Hey ThoAlmighty I’ll take a look and post a comment for you as quickly as I can.

If anyone wants to have a gander at my new brew

[Primer] Yawgmoth, Lord of the Wastes

Commander / EDH Poly_raptor

Then that’d be cool.

I Updated my Hapatra deck to become a Sek’Kuar deck, which left me with a spare Yawgmoth and bunch of -1 counter stuff. This is what I aim to build over the next few months :)

Said on Tishana, card draw...

I’d add a few lands that can tap for one mana of any colour.

Things like Rupture Spire or Grand Coliseum are great budget options. Maybe also run more islands since you’re heavier on blue you don’t need as my forests.

I’d also add in Sol Ring it’s a ridiculously good card.
