Drove of Elves Discussion

Have you considered creatures like Drove of Elves

Heroes' Bane and Drove of Elves. Two big creatures that can get MASSIVE. I'm talking 16/16 for Drove of Elves and 132/132 for Heroes' Bane.

All for a dollar.

Lys Alana Huntmaster + Kessig Cagebreakers + Feed the Pack + Drove of Elves is a nasty combo. Army of disposable tokens with deathtouch anyone?

One word dude. Drove of Elves! X/X hexproof where X=the number of green permanents you control.

Well actually i know how to sideboard :). In the past I have got in my sideboard Naturalize for 2 times and so on but I am trying to find something better, for example dragon with ability to clean enchantment or atifact. Contra aggro I have there Thragtusk, maybe I add 1 more. And finally that was only 1 synergy, I love Drove of Elves cause it has hexproof and power and toughness equal to the number of green pernaments I control so I have here Mycoloth and Jedith. I am also thinking about Hornet queen. But you are right that this is not aggro or control, it's something between those. Faster than control and more persistent than aggro and that's what I like to play.

ibstudent2200 A lot of the Omnath Turn 2 Plays I ended up drawing late in the game when they were dead draws and that's the only reason they aren't in the deck. When I started out things like Elvish Mystic were in the deck but again, I found them to be dead draws later on.

Rancor was in the deck for a looooong while but then I got my hands on Whispersilk Cloak and that was the replacement. I've considered dropping Rancor back in for a while though, I might actually do it.

I didn't realize Frontier Siege was both main phases or else I would have bought this the day it came out. I think out of the three here Selvala, Heart of the Wilds is my favorite. I might have to see if anyone I know has one laying around. Doubling Cube has always been a huge option, the only reason it hasn't been a purchase recently was because money got tight. It is definitely still on my list though.

Wood Elves is something I don't know that I agree with but considering its the same thing as Untamed Wilds I might as well go ahead and swap them!

Silverglade Elemental was a drop in back when I first built the deck, but I just haven't found anything to replace it with yet, so that's the only reason its still in. I might drop it for Selvala, Heart of the Wilds if I can find one.

I agree on the Drove of Elves, again it was one of those cards that I dropped in during the beginning of my building and just never found a replacement for. Do you have a creature you would recommend filling this spot with?

Thorn Elemental ... This card was just for memories, because it was my first ever foil and I kept it for so long, but it needs to be retired. Maybe drop Rancor in its place?

Nessian Wilds Ravager was in for a removal card, or just to have a big dude. Prey Upon would be a much better replacement, but I was kind of hoping to have a big dude with it, which is why Ravager was still in

Viridian Emissary was in because he was a 2/1 for 2 that made opponents hesitate before attacking turn 2 for fear of giving an extra mana. But being able to sac Sakura-Tribe Elder in the event of something like a ping works as well, I suppose, which does make him better. Very valid point

I agree with the Enlarge drop, and Ezuri's Predation would be an amazing replacement, however Revenge of the Hunted allows Omanth to hit directly as everything else has to block something smaller like Sakura-Tribe Elder for example.

Thank you for your wonderful feedback!

Protean Hydra Paradox Engine Lifeblood Hydra Heroes' Bane Natural Order Green Sun's Zenith Fauna Shaman Sylvan Tutor and for better draw and the such Sensei's Divining Top Mirri's Guile and Sylvan Library and for things to cut i would say Drove of Elves seeing as there are better choices and Deadly Recluse while it does have reach it just isn't that good play cards like Tornado Elemental or Predator, Flagship and i would replace Viridian Emissary with Yavimaya Elder

Llanowar Elves, Arbor Elf, Birds of Paradise, Elvish Mystic, Fyndhorn Elves, Wild Growth, Utopia Sprawl, Magus of the Vineyard: All of these cards let you play Omnath on T2. I haven't tested the Magus, but the others are definitely worthwhile.

Gaea's Embrace, Rancor: Good when you want to turn Omnath sideways.

Frontier Siege, Selvala, Heart of the Wilds, Doubling Cube: Cards that produce way too much mana.

Cards that I dislike:

Untamed Wilds: Too slow. Wood Elves is a staple because graveyard recursion and blink effects are all over the place.

Silverglade Elemental: You aren't running Temur Sabertooth, so this card is worse than a LOT of other cards I could list. If you're trying to run obscure cards that ramp you, Ondu Giant is another option.

Drove of Elves: In your best case scenario, it's giant creature that gets chumped incredibly easily.

Thorn Elemental: I feel like a cheap way to give Omnath trample would deal more damage than this guy.

Nessian Wilds Ravager: If you need more removal, Song of the Dryads and Prey Upon, and Clear Shot are probably better choices. If you're running this as a big dude, it's pretty terrible.

Viridian Emissary: Worse than Sakura-Tribe Elder and Rampant Growth.

Enlarge, Revenge of the Hunted: Enlarge doesn't even give Omnath much of a bonus, and forcing blocks is counterproductive if you're trying to kill an opponent. If you want to kill a lot of creatures, Ezuri's Predation is more effective.
