Enchantment (1)

Creature (1)

Originally this deck was based on the Guided By Nature pre-constructed Commander Deck, however I really liked the idea of using Nath of the Gilt-Leaf as my commander, so the change began. I shifted first into B/G Elves and wasn't happy with the end result there, so we changed again. We dropped a lot of the Ramp that Elf decks are pseudo-famous for, we also started to really take advantage of Nath's mechanics by upping the amount of discard cards in the deck. This has pushed the deck to the point where its mostly Black with a little bit more than a splash of Green. Now the deck has really two goals, control the opponent's hand by making them discard everything they don't play, and get a horde of elves on the field to overwhelm any defenses your opponents may try to muster and buff those elves with the few Elf cards left in the deck.

Some of the Key Combos of the Deck:

Nath of the Gilt-Leaf + Sadistic Hypnotist This combo technically falls into the Infinite category as for every elf you sac you'll get two back, but it is insanely helpful to hit early in the game when your opponent(s) still have a fairly large hand, and can easily win you the game. Nath and Myojin of Night's Reach can also accomplish the same thing, but with the added benefit that you don't have to continuously sac elves to make the engine run so to say.

Liliana's Caress + Megrim + Shrieking Affliction or Mind Slash If you're able to get this set up no matter what your opponent does they'll start taking damage, their only option is to try to find some removal options, but with any luck we'll be able to take care of those no problem.

Waste Not with this deck is insanity, especially if you have Nath out, with every discard you're digging a deeper and deeper hole for your opponents.

While its not necessarily a combo, I really enjoy the interaction that Nephalia Academy has with the deck when it comes to cards like Bottomless Pit, Cunning Lethemancer, and Necrogen Mists. It works almost like a reverse scry, I can start to plan out what I'll be needing next turn and place that on the deck.

I feel that the few different avenues I have for tutoring can help me win as soon as I need to by pulling out my Win Con cards, I have Tamiyo's Journal, Diabolic Tutor, And Liliana Vess

Speaking of Win Cons, there are a few different avenues for this deck to go down, if you happen to have hit a combo where you have loads of elves out on the field, one of the best options is to snag Ezuri, Renegade Leader and start pumping the elves as many times as you can. However if you're running a little short on mana Avatar of Woe can be mean to your opponent's board (if they have anything out) and will start swinging for some good damage. Sheoldred, Whispering One can start pilfering all the mean creatures that your opponents had to discard and turn them against their former masters. Liliana Vess's Ultimate is a game ender barring a board wipe, but if you have her out you should be generating enough elves through Nath to have made your opponent already try to board wipe.
