Double Strike!
azanimator2003, 11 years ago
Like the idea of double strike how can you not. Although kind of a high bestow cost.
Added 2x Ghostblade Eidolon Minus 1x Sphere of Safety 1x Hopeful Eidolon

Slowly getting the cards required.

Unfortunately still no sign of Ichorclaw Myr over here in China.
Managed to pick up Invigorate and Might of Old Krosa today though.
Well pleased.

Mainboard Update
thegigibeast, 11 years ago
I need help to remove some cards to include a Vedalken Orrery and a couple more lands. I thought about removing Grand Melee and No Quarter, because it forces me to attack and I don't often want to attack with this deck because I have a lot of small creatures, and also Viashino Sandswimmer because he is weak and his effect is really bad. What do you think about it?
sollid changes
Marnix_magic, 11 years ago
Made different changes in the deck. Had to remove some cards because of trade and removed cards which didn't work at all. Think I made the deck more stronger over time. cards added to the deck: Rakdos Carnarium // Obelisk of Jund // Rakdos Signet // Bone Splinters // Buried Alive // Skulltap // Altar's Reap // Terminate // Bloodghast // Champion of Stray Souls // Savra, Queen of the Golgari // Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper // Somberwald Sage
cards removed out of deck: Vesuva // Defense of the Heart // Feed the Pack // Disturbed Burial // Killing Wave // Carrion // Bloodgift Demon // Carrion Thrash // Charnelhoard Wurm // Gutless Ghoul // Korozda Guildmage // Lumberknot // Mitotic Slime

Added Lightning Volley

Thought about the potential interaction with Lightning Volley and Young Pyromancer (namely the elementals). Putting it in the maybe board, will test it out on Friday (hopefully)
Commander switch
Marnix_magic, 11 years ago
Made this deck before the commander2013 serie with Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper as my commander. Worked fine, but would like to have a commander wich generate tokens to start using instead of giving up important nontoken creatures in hard situations. Thereby I welcome my new commander: Prossh, Skyraider of Kher *f-etch*

Return to Action!
Emrakool, 11 years ago
With the deck updates finally complete, the Knights went into live action against my friend's rival Modern Vampires deck. They did not disappoint, going 2-0 with relative ease. Mutavault shined in its debut, throwing a timely indestructible block before joining in on the attack. My opponent never found his champion, Vampire Nocturnus, though I had removal handy if needed. On the other hand, Knight Exemplar found the battlefield early and often to send me on the offensive.
In both games I found my main concern to be a lack of early white mana as I ended up loaded with Cavern of Souls/Mutavault in my opening hand. Fortunately those issues resolved soon enough and I was able to make my plays without much difficulty.

In a slower match, like Two-Headed Giant or a round robin type multiplayer match, where if anyone attacks with everything to fast they risk leaving themselves open to another player attacking them, this deck could get sick. It is really slow for competitive single opponent modern play though.Wallisaurus, 11 years ago
Replaced Pacifism with Bonds of Faith so you can still make their creatures useless if they don't control humans, and have the section option in case they do to give them to your human creatures.

Few minor changes, mostly to the sideboard. Haven't really had time to test or think of things since BNG.Pithing Needle, your service is no longer needed!
Reading_is_cool, 11 years ago
So after playing countless games with this deck, I have come to the conclusion that Pithing Needle is no longer a necessary sideboard card. Here is why:
Pithing Needle has been primarily used to put a halt on planeswalkers, AEtherling, Underworld Connections, and sometimes a few Gods.... But this deck doesn't care about most planeswalkers and it doesn't care about AEtherling either- your opponent can do whatever the heck he/she wants with AEtherling but in the end you're just going to fog anyways.
The two Planeswalkers that cause this deck grief are 1.) Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver and 2.) Jace, Memory Adept.
1.) Ashiok can be killed by Abrupt Decay and exiled by Detention Sphere. If it comes out late-game it can even be countered with a Dissolve. It can also be pinged to death by Crackling Perimeter. Done!
2.) Jace can be trickier to deal with, but he doesn't come out until turn 5 and can be countered with Dissolve or just exiled with Detention Sphere. He can also be pinged to death by Crackling Perimeter Done-er!
3.) Underworld Connections can be a threat too, you don't want your opponent to dig for answers, but luckily it can be removed with both Abrupt Decay and Detention Sphere or just countered with dissolve.
Therefore I have removed - 3 Pitching Needle and have replaced the empty slots with +1 Detention Sphere, +1 Crackling Perimeter and +1 Dissolve!

Update v.1.2

Some minor changes. I don't plan to do much with the deck at this point except get a pair of Lightning Greaves and Swiftfoot Boots in exchange for Rough\Tumble and Arms Dealer.
Mass Change
GureiSeion, 11 years ago
Modified the deck to reflect tinkering and removal of cards that'll take a while to acquire. 5/10 current gods acquired, with 18 other cards (mostly land) to "de-proxy." I'm enjoying the progress.

Went 2-2-1 at the local shop. Made some changes to add a little more removal and self-mill. -4x Sylvan Caryatid -1x Nemesis of Mortals -2 Lotleth Troll. Lost in a close match to a mono blue that curved out well in a 2-1 round and lost to a Bant super friends deck after some terrible draws. Tied a B/W deck and beat two Jund decks, even surviving a couple Scavenging Ooze.

Regrettably replaced The Abyss with Crawlspace because I don't have $150 for one card.
FNM Excerpt
GureiSeion, 11 years ago
Combo'd out during a Five-For-All earlier tonight. With Maelstrom Wanderer already out from the previous turn, the following happened:
- Cast Tooth and Nail, entwined, bringing out Great Whale and Diluvian Primordial, untapping my lands from the cast (eight mana total from Temple of the False God). Diluvian grabs Rite of Replication from my deck off of an opponent's Diabolic Tutor.
- Cast Eternal Witness, returning T&N to my hand.
- Entwine it again for Palinchron and Phyrexian Metamorph, the latter becoming an Eternal Witness for T&N and the former replenishing my mana.
- Tap out again to kick Rite of Replication on Great Whale. Five enter play, and thanks to untap triggers, I net forty mana.
- Repeat Tooth and Nail three more times, respectively grabbing Anarchist and Izzet Chronarch to enable said repetitions, the other critters being Balefire Dragon, Mindwrack Liege, Bogarden Hellkite, and Prime Speaker Zegana (nine counters, enters as an 11/11).
- Spend a little extra mana while opponents take in the incoming blowout on another creature or two, then swing with enough force to outright kill two players and seriously wound another (all flying, thanks to a milled Wonder in the graveyard).
- Game ends on my next turn.
I love it when opponents tap out.

Ramp Adjustment

-1 Talisman of Impulse, +1 Prismatic Lens
The importance of blue mana cannot be overstressed in this monstrosity.
