DemonDragonJ on Forcemage Cycle

Some time ago, I expanded Deathgrip and Lifeforce into a cycle of five allied-colored creatures, so I now am doing the same for Freyalise's Charm and Leshrac's Sigil , which are two more cards that I find to be very interesting, so here are the results of my work:

I removed the “return to hand” ability of each card in exchange for much greater versatility; each creature has protection from the shared enemy color of the creature’s colors, as well as an ability that both colors share that triggers when an opponent casts a spell of the enemy color.

Assertive Forcemage Show

Originally, I planned to have this creature’s ability counter the red spell that the opponent cast, but I decided that that was too powerful (and I have already created a white/blue creature than can counter red spells in the previous cycle that I mentioned), so I instead chose another ability that blue and white share.

Ferocious Forcemage Show

The ability of this creature is worded so that it can target either itself, if its controller controls no other creatures, or creatures that are controlled by other players, in the case that an opponent casts a blue spell during another player’s turn, which will make it useful for games with more than two players.

Holistic Forcemage Show

For this card, I wanted to keep the ability of Freyalise's Charm , but drawing cards is not an ability that green and white share, so I instead chose an ability that they do share, and it gains more life than the damage that sadistic forcemage deals because gaining life is usually not as powerful as is losing life.

Mindwrack Forcemage Show

Because this card is much more versatile than is Leshrac's Sigil , I made its ability less powerful, so that the controller of the mage cannot see the other player’s hand, and the other player may choose which card that they discard. Also, given that Balefire Dragon has no relation to Balefire Liege and that Deathbringer Thoctar has no relation to Deathbringer Liege , I feel that I can use the term “mindwrack” on a creature that has no relation to Mindwrack Liege .

Sadistic Forcemage Show

This card is very simple and straightforward, and I originally had planned for it to deal the damage only to the caster of the white spell, but I made the ability more flexible to allow for political ploys in multiplayer games.

Also, I decided to create a legendary card to accompany this cycle, as well:

Felicia, Forcemage Adept Show

I could not allow the ability of Freyalise's Charm to not be used on a creature, so I put it on a legendary creature, so that it could be used as the general of an EDH deck; I gave the player the option of choosing a color, so that the creature would have greater versatility; and I retained the "return to hand" ability, so that the player could choose a different color for the first ability, if they needed to do so.

What does everyone think of these cards? Do you like them?

DemonDragonJ on Help Me Reduce My Decks …

The next deck that I wish to discuss is named Fire and Ice. As with the previous decks, I shall remove two lands from it, which leaves me with eight more cards that I need to remove. I likely shall remove two copies each of Dominus of Fealty and Hypersonic Dragon, due to their high mana costs; Mindwrack Liege is more expensive than are they, but it is too good to not have four copies of it in this deck.

I am contemplating if I should remove either Jhoira of the Ghitu or Keranos, God of Storms from that deck, as they are both awesome creatures, but I do need to reduce the number of cards in this deck. Lightning Bolt is also an awesome card, but it is the least essential card in this deck, unfortunately, so I likely shall not keep it. However, if I do remove it, will there be a sufficient number of non-land spells to trigger the prowess ability of Stormchaser Mage? If not, I shall replace that card with Lightning Stormkin.

I also have a blue/green deck named Artificial Evolution, from which I also plan to remove two lands, leaving eight non-land cards that need to be removed. I likely shall remove two copies of Trygon Predator, because, as great as that card is, it is unlikely that my opponents shall have a sufficient number of artifacts or enchantment for it to be necessary for me to have four copies in this deck, as well as two copies of Horizon Chimera, because the lifegain from that card is largely negligible, but flash, flying, and trample are all excellent abilities, so two copies may remain. As good as Winged Coatl is, I still need to remove cards from this deck, so I shall likely remove two copies of it, as well.

Edric, Spymaster of Trest, Maraleaf Pixie, Murkfiend Liege, and Prophet of Kruphix are all too amazing to remove, but Overbeing of Myth is disposable, as tragic as that may be, so I likely shall remove it, as well.

What does everyone else say about these two decks? What cards should I remove from them to reduce them each to 60 cards?

Thanks for your Feedback guys.

@Faded In one of my next Updates i will defnitly try to replace some cards with Echoing Truth and/or Into the Roil . Also Wash Out might be a good replacement for some of other removement spells. Warstorm Surge is already replaced with Ashnod's Altar - totale forgot about it. Arjun and Niv-Mizzet will leave the deck for cards from the Mayeboard in a future update. Up to now (only played ~25games) they did nothing for winning a game.

@BloGames2603 because of cutting expensive creatures in future Mindwrack Liege isnt an option then. Because of cards like Coat of Arms, Favorable Winds and Obelisk of Urd Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive isn't an viable option at the moment. If one or two of these cards will leave the deck i will defnitly consider about Tetsuko.

About Toothy, Imaginary Friend Im not sure because he is quite expensive to play and i have not much control about the moment when he dies. Therefore im tending to Chasm Skulker which synergize with cards like Impact Tremors and Goblin Bombardment .

Consecrated Sphinx will definetly find its way in to this deck. But op to now i have only a much cheaber version in Form of Windreader Sphinx . Nezahal, Primal Tide could also be a good replacement - i have to try him.

But why do you think Rhystic Study does not wirk with Propaganda?

i think Mindwrack Liege is too expensive for a deck with only 22 lands. plus its the only multi-colored creature in the deck, so you're payin 6 mana for just a +1/+1 boost. i also think you need more instants/sorceries for your Thing in the Ice  Flip/ Bedlam Reveler . and you definitely want fetchlands if you're using Scourge Wolf . the way your deck is now, its actually impossible to get delirium online unless your opponent uses land destruction against you. if you added black you could try Hunted Horror . just save it until right before Thing in the Ice  Flip would transform to negate the downside.

for the problem you want to cast high creature cost, I should put in Mindwrack Liege , so you can cast 2 of those creatures after wheeling in T7.

I think Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive is also very effective! you could also try to play Bident of Thassa in combination and Toothy, Imaginary Friend for the extra draw after a wipe.

If you want some more expensive things that will win, or in combination with Mindwrack Liege , you can play Nezahal, Primal Tide , Consecrated Sphinx or Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur .

Maybe it is also nice to work with cards as Rhystic Study , but that doesn't work that well with Propaganda , so that's a choice you can make

Steady deck, you gave me much ideas for mine, thnx! :D

You have a good point. I might need to run a counterspell package, after all.

So far I plan following:

To be removed:

To be added:

And Gyre Engineer is questionably to be swapped with Incubation Druid , since latter can be pumped to give 3 mana and become 3/5 to survive small wipes.

What do you think? I definetely need to clear some space, but right now I am not sure what to remove. So this is what I have: Counterspells:

Only 4 counterspells in 100-card deck... I am really not sure. Maybe Mystic Snake or Frilled Mystic would be better? Boardwipes: Other stuff

I don't run tutors not because they are expensive (Though Wordly Tutor, Gamble and Mystic Tutor are fairly affordable as an upgrade), I don't want to make deck too (uhh) strong. I made Lavinia, Azorius Renegade deck which revolves around getting Knowledge Pool out, and if I draw one of the artifact tutors and have anti-counter in hand, I win, it's only a matter of time. Which is nice to spook new players, but not that great when I play N'th game with same people.

I would love to run Heroic Intervention , however, running a single card that can do it seems a bit inconsistent. I will definetely consider Volcanic Fallout and Pyroclasm , however, in the current state its a tough decision on what to remove. I already have options to replace Prime Speaker Vannifar , Birthing Pod , Trygon Predator and Mindwrack Liege , however, I dont really want to run counterspells in mainboard, other than, maybe Unwind and Rewind , as they are free if resolve.
