Bane of Progress

Creature — Elemental

When Bane of Progress enters the battlefield, destroy all artifacts and enchantments. Put a +1/+1 counter on Bane of Progress for each permanent destroyed this way.

Who knows if it's entirely 'good' in here, but Raised by Giants isn't an aura and it gives Wolverine +8/+8, too bad it doesn't come with Trample! There is also Belt of Giant Strength that might synergize for a handy buff.

Maybe One with the Kami? It doesn't have to go on Wolverine, and if he's strong enough you a ton of bodies. The card can go infinite with many other cards fwiw, but I've rarely seen it used for that so it shouldn't attract attention.

While it might not look fantastic at first glance, Kessig Wolf Run is a pretty useful card in most Gruul lists that feature ramp, and in this list it's even better since your Commander can regenerate if the opponent kills him due to low toughness. Since it's a land it's a safer include IMHO. Shinka, the Bloodsoaked Keep is a much fancier land, but First Strike seems like it'd be a nice ability to have. Final one, the new Arena of Glory, Haste is a sweet ability.

Inquisitor's Flail is a card I always look at when I build a Voltron list, if it's at all possible to be sneaky with it it's a very cheap damage doubling equipment that stacks with almost everything. Just this and and your Commander hits for 8 without any counters, and you can just regenerate him if he dies, but it's even better with double strike, then you'd hit for 16 from just those 2 things, and having even +1 power would turn it into 24, which is lethal.

As for possible cuts:

I don't love Assault Strobe, I hate that it's a Sorcery, especially when even Temur Battle Rage exists, giving double strike without trample seems like a bad idea. BTW I'm not saying run Battle Rage necessarily, I don't know if you want a one and done like this, and you for sure don't want it to be a Sorcery IMHO.

Animist's Might makes me wonder if Monstrous Onslaught is better, it doesn't have to target your own creature so it's harder to disrupt, and the ability to spread the damage out can make things very ugly for people if have a big creature. Might to me looks like it'd be cheaper to cast, but you'll only ever kill one creature with it. Similarly I don't love Contest of Claws, Sorcery speed removal isn't very good and I'm not sure that's enough upside (though it is better than Might fwiw, I'd look at better cards). If you're dead set on a card like this why not use Stump Stomp  Flip instead? At least it's a land if you're desperate.

Grumgully the Generous seems bad? I could be missing something, but a single +1 counter doesn't sound like it's worth a slot, especially at 3 mana, and you can only get it on ETB, so it's VERY timing sensitive; do you REALLY want to delay Wolverine a turn for this guy? I love the flavor of the card so I could see it being a pet card, so if it's a favorite keep it! Similarly I don't know about Renata, Called to the Hunt, both of these are great if you've got synergies with the counters, but if you don't they are just a one time +1/+1, and if they come down late they might just do nothing at all.

Concord With the Kami looks like a bit of a trap to me, if you are getting wiped a lot the card will do nothing, right, and that's when you want it the most!

How often do you find yourself drawing more than 3 cards with Season of Growth? I think Harmonize is going to play more consistently fwiw, but if you find you're usually drawing 3 or more cards with Season it's probably fine.

Do you really need to size of the effect for Signature Slam? It seems worse than Kamahl's Will, which costs only one more for an (arguably) much bigger effect. These lands are Indestructible and have Vigilance, so they can all safely swing (and can benefit from buffs as creatures for that turn) if you need that, but they can also work as handy blockers, I feel like killing the opponent's best creature AND making a bunch of blockers is nice upside?

I don't think you want or need stuff like Arcane Signet or Gruul Signet in Gruul, you're already vulnerable to stuff like Bane of Progress, so why increase that vulnerability? There are still Green ramp spells out there fwiw, including Three Visits. I guess the rocks are cheaper (and can add Green when you're truly desperate), but it seems more like an allowance to run more Basics (in a deck that doesn't run anything like Primal Order or Blood Moon), do you have some good payoffs for running Basics over the odd dual? I get the price point, but I feel like when you go much over $100 you have to start spending more on lands, or really lean into some kind of synergy with Basics, such as the ability to dig out a TON of Basics somehow (there are cards like Traverse the Outlands I guess).

I hope some of these ideas help, apologies if I suggested you cut any pet cards!

I see you're playing Birthing Pod. It's important to have a solid mana curve for your creatures. Currently, you only have one two-cost creature, which could cause some issues. You might want to consider adding a few more two-drops. Some suggestions include Marionette Apprentice, Blood Artist, Feasting Hobbit , or Wight of the Reliquary. To stay consistent, Yisan, the Wanderer Bard could also be a good addition.

I would also recommend tweaking your removal package. You could replace or supplement Decree of Pain with Damnation and/or Toxic Deluge. For additional targeted removal, consider adding Beast Within , Assassin's Trophy, or Nature's Claim to lower the overall cost of your removal spells.

Since you'll be sacrificing a lot, Noxious Revival could be a great addition to your deck.

Darksteel Forge is another fun card to consider, especially in combination with Bane of Progress. If you go this route, you could also include Nevinyrral's Disk for even more synergy.

Good luck with building your deck!

I can list some good pieces of removal in the form of permanents if you wish.

Amphin Mutineer straight-up exiles a creature on etb, and you can do it again through his encore effect once he hits the yard.

Kitesail Larcenist turns 3 artifacts/creatures into useless treasures (one for each opponent), and he can technically hit something of yours like a Fierce Empath or a Reclamation Sage after you're done with their etb effects but need a little extra mana to cast something big.

Amphibian Downpour is basically an instant speed Imprisoned in the Moon that can copy itself depending on how much you or an opponent storms off.

Sapphire Dragon's adventure half is a neat counterspell option in the early game, and you can cast him later as a seven mana dragon to still trigger Imoti later on. Same principle applies to Emerald Dragon, Stormkeld Vanguard, Sword Coast Serpent, and Horned Loch-Whale. Galvanic Giant is also kind of nuts since you're effectively locking down something your opponent controls every time you cast a big spell while also having the option to have a massive draw spell on the side should you need it.

The Phasing of Zhalfir is such a good blue "boardwipe", especially since you can choose to protect one or two of your creatures before the third chapter goes off, or you can immediately skip to the third chapter if you really need the boardwipe to happen the turn you cast it.

Bane of Progress is a good boardwipe against artifact/enchantment-centric decks.

Kenrith's Transformation is a lignify/imprisoned in the moon that replaces itself on etb.

There's of course removal in the form of colorless artifacts. You got Meteor Golem, Cityscape Leveler, Portal to Phyrexia (which also acts as reanimation), and boardwipes like Nevinyrral's Disk and Perilous Vault. If you can wait till your stuff is untapped then False Floor has the potential to be a one-sided wipe that also slows down opponents with hastier decks.

Otawara, Soaring City and Boseiju, Who Endures are interaction in the form of lands. They're also generally harder to counter given that you're activating them as abilities rather than casting their channel effects as spells.

There's also ways to force your opponents to block one of your big guys with all of their creatures so you can let through all of your other big guys through and also kill off some chump fodder in the process. Something like Taunting Arbormage or Shinen of Life's Roar come to mind.

That's all I got for now, but good luck upgrading your deck!

Bane of Progress, Rampage of the Clans, and Pest Infestation go crazy stupid in this deck.

StopShot on New format idea: "Cursebound"

Cursebound is a "Rule Zero" extension of the EDH format. All legal EDH decks are legal in Cursebound. Cursebound slightly loosens up deck-building limitations of EDH to allow for nonlegendary creatures to be your commander while maintaining traditional commander gameplay as well also lightly capping the power level of nonlegendary commander decks for the sake of fun and fairness.

In the cursebound format, if your commander is a nonlegendary creature you must also have a "curse" card as your "commander's fate" in the command zone. The chosen curse card in the command zone can only enchant yourself, and it has the added text, "[this curse has] protection from yourself." If your commander is a nonlegendary card, you can only cast it from the command zone if your "commander's fate" is already on the battlefield first. The "commander's fate" is not subject to the command tax. Removing a player's commander's fate from the battlefield will not counter or return their commander to the command zone if their commander is on the stack or on the battlefield. (Removing the commander's fate only impacts their ability to cast their nonlegendary commander from the command zone.) The command tax still applies to nonlegendary commanders and nonlegendary commanders are treated as if they have the legendary supertype regardless of what zone they're in. (As in they'll proc cards like Hero's Blade," and cards like Mirrorweave would not see that commander as a valid target.) All other EDH rules apply.

In Cursebound you are allowed to choose a commander's fate that is outside your commander's color identity. The color identity of the commander's fate will also be added to your commander's color identity, (and thus you'll be allowed to add cards of that color identity to your deck). There are only two deck building limitations regarding the commander's fate. (1) Your commander's fate must be of a higher or equal card rarity than your commander. (Ex. Vampire Nighthawk + Curse of Predation is allowed. Vampire Nighthawk + Curse of the Nightly Hunt is allowed. Vampire Nighthawk + Curse of the Pierced Heart is not allowed because the curse is of a lower rarity.) If a card has multiple rarities then their rarity is always the least rarest from among their physical card printings. (2) Curse cards that have the words "you" or "your" or omit the words "you" or "your" in its text box can not be used as your commander's fate. (For example, Maddening Hex and Curse of Vengeance can not be your commander's fate as they mention the word "your" and "you" in their text boxes. Curse of Disturbance and Curse of Opulence can not be your commander's fate because both omit the word "you" in their text boxes - "Whenever enchanted player is attacked, [you] create a 2/2 black Zombie creature token." & "Whenever enchanted player is attacked, [you] create a Gold token.") All front-faced curse cards that meet these criteria may be used as your commander's fate. Decks can only have one commander's fate.

The intent and spirit of this format and the commander's fate is for two reasons. To provide nonlegendary creatures with more color flexibility as they're much-much more likely to be mono-colored compared to most legendary creatures, and to keep in spirit with "Rule Zero" fairness by providing a reasonable drawback that can make their existence more tolerable to more playgroups. These principles should be kept in mind when enforcing a banlist for this format, for example, Curse of Obsession and/or Bane of Progress would both be banned from being command zone candidates simply for going against the spirit of the format by either being able to abuse their curse's drawback or having a way to negate their curse's drawback from the command zone with very little difficulty. Command Beacon would be an example of a banworthy card in the 98 for also skating around the spirit of this format as well. (Do note, cards banned in the 98 don't apply to legal EDH decks that aren't running a commander's fate in the command zone.) While competitiveness is acceptable trying to find ways to break the intended mechanics of this format should be discouraged for the sake of healthy game balance and group enjoyment.

In a similar vein of Bane of Progress, but Druid of Purification gets even more silly with Ygra on board.

So Bane of Progress Wipes the board because Ygara turned all creatures into artifacts and food right? or am I not understanding that interaction correct?

This looks pretty cool! I'm still pondering if I should build Mama Bear, especially because I already have Goreclaw. But then again, Duskana is basically the antithesis to her. We'll see.

Some cards I'd consider for this deck are these:

Welcoming Vampire. It's not a 2/2 itself, but draws additional cards. Seems good enough.

Wild Pair. It weirdly doesn't work here if you have anthem effects, but it's insane with a deck full of 2/2s.

Faldorn, Dread Wolf Herald. Draws cards and makes quite a lot of 2/2s.

Hornet Queen. It's a 2/2, but it brings 6 flying, deathtouching power. Great for defense. And just imagine casting literally anything with a Wild Pair out to get this thing in addition.

Bane of Progress. 'Nuff said ;)

Thanks to Duskana caring about base P/T, Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma actually works quite well here. If you properly stack her trigger and Duskana's, your 2/2s will become 6/6 trampling forces of nature.

Dusk / Dawn is perfect for the deck. Boardwipe? Check. Big splashy value spell? Check!

Ayula's Influence would need quite a lot of land recursion to play it here, so that's a clear maybe.
