I recently watched episode 140 of "The Command Zone," and something the hosts considered about Partner Commanders is that it might be better to focus on one a little more because you might run into less problems. Well my deck uses both equally and I think I have the solution to that problem: Make a Shadowborn Apostle deck!

One of the things that this deck does differently is it's usage of the Shadowborn Apostles in combat. Rather than using a commander like Athreos, God of Passage so I can reccur my Shadowborn Apostles, I run Tymna the Weaver to draw into more Shadowborn Apostles. But if I'm relying on tiny 1/1's to do my dirty work, they are gonna die. That is the reason for Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa. In my meta, creatures with flying or reach are rare, so I can usually deal damage no problem. (Side Note: There is a Grenzo, Havoc Raiser in my play group, and Sidar makes him attack everyone but me!)

Now of course there are always cards that no one thinks-of/knows-exists:

  1. Sigarda, Heron's Grace. Now of course people don't really use targeted removal on Shadowborn Apostles, but they use them on my commanders and other great cards in my deck.

  2. Edgewalker. No comment necessary.

  3. Remembrance
