As budget builds went, it was fast & fun, but now my playgroup is regularly playing EDH, and this needed a little upgrade. So I looked at nobu_the_bard's deck, Anax and Cymede, Hero EDH, and took some ideas from there. I also threw in some of Luutamo's Aavehia, auraspirit shenanigans, to build what I hope will be a fun voltron-y commander deck. It ended up being more white than red, but so be it... So here's the important parts:

Step 1. Enchant Anax and Cymede like crazy for commander damage.

Tutors: Tallowisp, Lost Auramancers & Heliod's Pilgrim. Mesa Enchantress & Mentor of the Meek for card draw.

Use auras like Sunbond, Ethereal Armor, Eidolon of Countless Battles , & Armored Ascension to make it BIG. And sneak the damage through with protection auras OR by forecasting Spirit en-Dal from your hand.

Step 2. Protect it from all the evil things that want to destroy it.

Tons of protection cards in here, including Guildscorn Ward , Crown of Awe , Holy Mantle, Shield of Duty and Reason , Ward of Lights , Sejiri Steppe & Blessed Breath . Extend that protection to all your creatures with Concerted Effort , or use that to gain protection from artifacts with Angelic Curator. Indestructibility , Bastion Protector & Inviolability can also keep your card on the field.

Step 3. Build a giant token army to support them while everyone's worried about your commander.

Sigil of the Empty Throne creates an angel army as you cast enchantment spells. Moonsilver Spear also creates a ton of angels. Assemble the Legion is a threat that can't go unanswered, especially with all the buff cards we've got, like Cathars' Crusade, Celestial Ancient , Spear of Heliod , Nobilis of War , Goldnight Commander , and of course, our dear Commanders.

Step 4. Bring back anything that gets destroyed.

Use Angel of Glory's Rise to bring back your humans. Angel of Flight Alabaster brings back your spirits. Auramancer , Silent Sentinel, Mine Excavation & Remember the Fallen will bring back your enchantments (& an artifact, if necessary).

Combos:

++Angel of Flight Alabaster + Kami of False Hope - You get 1 free opponent's turn every round, and in 1v1, your opponent is not able to kill you with combat damage.

++Assemble the Legion + Goldnight Commander quickly gets out of hand, especially if you can hit Anax and Cymede in the same turn. Also fun with Assemble the Legion + Cathars' Crusade
