Playing Kaheera as a companion probably hurts the deck more than it helps, but there aren't that many good dogs, it's more fun to build and avoids me feeling bad for not including some expensive but great creature cards like mentor of the meek. It does help to avoid having an empty hand. Keeping mana open to use Rin and Seri every turn also makes it so that you aren't emptying your hand too quick while getting good value out of your mana every turn.
