This was the third EDH deck I built, and currently my oldest. The first two were taken apart because... well, they weren't very good. This deck, while not really up to the power level of my other decks, is still a decent and straightforward strategy. I like to keep it around to give to new players trying out the format. It also acts as my go-to option for powered down games, where my opponents aren't running optimal strategies.

The deck is filled with various lifegain cards. I prioritize effects that occur at least once per turn, or trigger multiple times through basic gameplay actions (creature/land ETB, on cast, etc). The redundancy helps Karlov get huge, which allows me to swing in for the kill voltron-style - or - I can sit back and control the board by exiling my opponents' threats. It isn't a terribly exciting strategy, but it certainly gets the job done in powered-down games.
