Wanted to build a deck under $100, and Abzan colors seemed as good a place to start as any.

So what we have here is a landfall deck with a lot of ramp, a go-wide creature strategy and life gain.

Depending on what you call ramp, there's 30 spells or abilities that are either mana dorks, rocks, mana doublers or just good old-fashioned things that put lands directly into play.

Taking advantage of all that ramp, 12 cards have landfall or landfall-like triggers, creating tokens (Rampaging Baloths, Zendikar's Roil), gaining life (Retreat to Hagra, Jaddi Offshoot) or recurring things from the graveyard (Emeria Shepherd.

Those tokens don't just make a big board. Felidar Retreat, Binding the Old Gods and Champion of Lambholt can make those creatures bigger, deadlier and even unblockable.

And the life gain doesn't just keep you alive. Amalia Benavides Aguirre and Sanguine Bond can use that lifegain for extra benefits.

Normal The Gitrog Monster and Tireless Tracker make sure there's always fresh cards in my hand, either through saccing lands or cracking clues (a nice mana sink when you've got too much mana and not much to spend it on).

All in all, it's a pretty simple deck with a pretty effective strategy. And it won't take too much out of your wallet.
