so, this is my first ever commander deck and has grown over the years to be everything I could ever want in a commander deck, always looking to evolve it so please comment any suggestions.

Commander Choice

Alena is the main focus of the deck so the choice to pair her with a low power mana dork is for the sole purpose of getting to alena consistently. Halana or Kodama are better pick but I like the consistency of ramping into Alena every game allowing for the fun to begin earlier. Another reason is that when sitting down at a table with new people, they see these 2 and assume the deck is very low power, leaving you to set up hand for a game winning turn out of nowhere.

Deck Plan

build an unsuspecting board full of utility and a hand full of dragons. play a dragon, tap alena, play another, untap and tap alena, play more dragons, win out of nowhere. sneak attack is the greatest help with this and since i pulled it has shaped how i play the whole deck. the explosive potential of playing a dragon for 1 mana then tapping alena for 6+ brings out a mad cackle every time it works.

Expensive future upgrades

there are many major upgrades that could be made but have not been due to budget. while there are some wildly expensive cards in this list, theyve all been opened naturally or acquired from friends, theses expensive upgrades will be made slowly over time as prices hopefully fall due to reprints.
