Minor List Chance - March 3rd, 2019
Zoanzon, 7 years ago
So, the list has undergone a bit more development. Not sure if I'm going to be making major changes to the list soon, so keeping track of the current list in case that happens but later needs to un-happen.

Updates

I replaced Ajani Goldmane with Blasting Station to increase the likelihood of the infinite combo, which acts as 2 cards in the combo. I also replaced Mortify with a Faceless Butcher because I liked the versatility of using the Fiend Hunter as a protection spell even though the butcher can't used as a replacement in the combo. Solemn Simulacrum replaced Pitiless Plunderer since it can go infinite with the Reveillark/Karmic Guide combo.
I just read the card again

I thought that Jarad does a drain effect so you can gain life. This is not true, however you can use his ability once before you do the combo as a laugh like this isn't game breaking stuff and then just wammo by paying around 35 life with Minion of Wastes, or whatever you need based on the circumstance.
Standard Showdown

I went 1-2 tonight. This is my first real outing with the deck and I faced 3 aggro decks in a row. I don't feel too bad except for my loss against Mono Green when I couldn't find a fourth land to cast Settle for the blow out. Testing today, before the event, I went 6-2. The variance is real. More work and more testing to come.
Made it even more competative

Planeswalkers are Legendary!

Given the legendary rules shift this deck, which began as somewhat of a joke, has suddenly become a much better deck than I had intended. I've been playtesting it a lot and resultantly taking out some of the more flavorful pieces for more competitive pieces. Tragic Arrogance has become Wrath of God etc.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum
First stable deck iteration: time to sum up!

The list has come to a very good balance between win potential and fairness perceived by the table. With all the past updates I completely embraced the Xerox phylosophy, increasing the density of spells, and put aside the Storm component, too painful both to play and watch with no loops involved. At the current state the list aims to pivot from being more Control focused in the earliest stages of the game to developing an ever increasing board while keeping counter-magic as a backup.
