I'd thought about running Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind as a commander for awhile, but something always stopped me. Maybe it's because I'm a player at heart and winning through cheap tricks and damage from card draw just felt wrong. Suddenly, I see The Locust God spoiled and realize my problems are over! I can run a deck that works the same as Niv-Mizzet minus the cheap Curiosity combos, and when with good wholesome aggro.

This list will obviously change a bit as more HOU cards are spoiled and released, but here's what I've come up with so far.

So obviously I'm primarily putting in cards that allow and benefit from card draw. However, my current EDH meta is very casual and very social, so things like Arcane Melee and Plea for Power are included with this in mind.

After some testing, the deck seems fairly functional. Although it takes 3 or 4 turns to really set up before it starts to go off, when it does go off it's very powerful.

This deck is being built with moderate budget in mind, primarily being made up of cards I already own, so please keep this in mind for any recommendations.
