Arcane Melee

Enchantment

Instant and sorcery spells cost less to cast.

Geier Reach Sanitarium and Horn of Greed immediately come to mind here.

I'm not sure how you could force an opponent to cast their 2nd spell each turn. Usually you attempt to limit them, not encourage them. I suppose Arcane Melee and Helm of Awakening might be a good place to start?

And, if you do Kindred Discovery naming Knight, you'll draw whenever you get that token, which during your own turn will also satisfy your draw requirement to get even more cards, as well.

This looks fine - commander is a more casual format, so there is a lot less pressure on what you must play. I'd look at only spending money on commander staples and filling out the rest from magic history. You've got 25 spots or so left, and some bigger spells and mana rocks will fill most of that.

Sol Ring, Clockspinning, Mind Games and mana rocks is the only thing I look and think 'must include'- being able to clone rocks with Orvar and reuse spells makes them a lot more important in a format they already like. Capsize is a neat option, but here the 1 mana stuff that leaves it on the board is better, so its not essential.

The higher mana curve is important to remember - the expectation to pay 6+ mana creatures and spells means that there are a lot of sweet options - most of them budget.

Its all about what feels best to play with your playgroup. Not everyone likes abrupt mono blue 'I win the game' setups, but orvar lets you mess around with stuff like AEtherling in a far more casual way too. Use judgement.

Its important to remember that while a lot of clone effects revolve around creatures, Orvar can make The Mirari Conjecture or similar enchantments/artifacts/planswalkers/lands go pretty wild. This means if you want to do the silliest of combos, stuff like Arcane Melee,Cowardice or Dismiss into Dream lets you massively misuse a spells-and-permanents matter deck.

I would suggest adding more ramp like Mind Stone or Arcane Signet also, Arcane Melee would be amazing considering how many expensive instants and sorceries you have. Unwind is a personal favorite of mine because I gives you Mana for another spell.

How about some Arcane Melee, The Mirari Conjecture, Sunbird's Invocation, Sphinx-Bone Wand, or Sentinel Tower.

This is my old Melek deck you played against a couple times until Storm became too overwhelming for me to muster and play

Also take out Clear the Mind, Twisted Image, Prescient Chimera, Apprentice Wizard, Rakshasa's Disdain, Neutralizing Blast, Memory Lapse, Arcane Melee (It'l probably help your opponent just as much as you), Corrupted Grafstone, Grip of the Roil, and Hedron Crawler.

The deck should now have 99 cards in it plus the commander. Good Luck with it!

No prob! I've never actually seen Distant Memories before, I might have to pick up a couple! Seems like it would be really fun and political. And that makes sense about being hesitant to cut the cards that trigger your commander. I'd think about cutting Galvanoth, I always try to play him but 5 mana for a creature that the odds are wont get a good trigger your next upkeep isnt worth it imo. ALso Izzet Chronarch, or Archaeomancer if you want to keep the izzet colours. Chemister's Trick, Charisma, Grip of Amnesia (for a better counterspell such as Counterflux), Cerebral Vortex, Nivix Guildmage, Arcane Melee, Thoughtflare. Also not sure how you take advantage of Aetherflux Reservoir? Maybe a cut.

Some cards that you might want to consider swapping your izzet creatures for are: Double Negative, Essence Backlash, Expansion / Explosion, Ionize, Magefire Wings, Suffocating Blast. Have fun brewing! I've definitely been doing alot of it over the last couple weeks haha
