Maybeboard

Awhile ago I had a mono blue sea monster theme EDH. The deck was tough to play.

  1. The ramp was hard. Most of the creatures were 6 CMC and above.
  2. The creatures I chose all revolved around the islandwalk mechanic. So I had to make sure that I could turn my opponents lands into islands.
  3. I would be tapped out every turn. Which left no mana open for counterspell fun or protecting my sea friends.
  4. I would end up being a target, cause my board state consisted of big scary creatures.

So I decided that I needed a way to distract my opponents. Edric, Spymaster of Trest was perfect. Not only was he was the right colors, but he had the right ability. I could reward my opponents for attacking each other while I quietly ramped into creatures like Lorthos, the Tidemaker and Inkwell Leviathan.
