An Izoni, Thosand-Eyed EDH

"Behold the End with A Thousand Eyes"

Our playgroup has begun to gather a few newer players. So, a few of us who like to play more competitively decided it would be a terrible terrible terrible idea to subject them to C-EDH decks. Instead we decided to build new decks, but instead of just simply putting together yet another EDH deck we thought it would be interesting to challenge ourselves. The rules we had to follow was a $25 dollar budget This was true at the time of creation. unfortunately prices on cards have gone up drastically from what they were. So the budget now sits around $50 range unfortunately.), the cost of basic lands dos not count, the cost of the commander dos not count, the cost of the cards was tracked at the lowest possible price you can acquire them from TCG.

I'll be honest I have always had a weak spot for graveyard shenanigans. Unfortunately, I do find it a little boring that most of the commanders for this theme are just reanimators on a stick. So, wanting to play around with the graveyard yet doing something a little different I decided that Izoni, Thousand-Eyed fit that description fairly well.

Gardeners:

The gardeners are the cards that tend to and cultivate our graveyard. Allowing it grow and flourish into a majestic garden. A place where we can harvest all the resources we need to overrun and consume our opponents.

Single time millers: These usually only activate once but with their lower mana costs help us get off the ground quickly.

-Satyr Wayfinder, Glowspore Shaman, Circle of the Land Druid, Grisly Salvage, Grapple with the Past, Old Stickfingers.

Continuous Millers: Cards that fill our graveyard slowly but continuously.

-Nyx Weaver, Splinterfright, Skull Prophet, Undercity Informer, Shigeki, Junkai Visionary.

Dredgers: Possibly the most important of the Gardeners are our Dredgers (This includes our MVP of the deck Golgari Grave-Troll. Try to get this guy in your graveyard ASAP whenever possible). Recurrable threats that fill our graveyard at a rapid pace.

-Golgari Grave-Troll, Golgari Brownscale, Shambling Shell, Stinkweed Imp, Dakmor Salvage.

Grave Diggers: These two can either put one of our win conditions (like Lotleth Giant) or put one of Gardner's (like Golgari Grave-Troll) into our graveyard. (An upgrade you could add to the deck is Buried Alive but unfortunately for our purposes it’s too expensive sitting at around $3.50)

-Vile Entomber, Corpse Connoisseur.

Harvesters:

The Harvesters reward us for our creatures dying and gives us the way to reap those rewards.

Grisly Salvage

The Aristocrats: Our sacrifice engines that allow our creatures to dodge removal, puts our Dredgers back into the graveyard or triggers our Death Trigger cards.

-Dimir House Guard, Legion Vanguard, Viscera Seer, Varolz, the Scar-Striped, Turntimber Sower, Whisper, Blood Liturgist, Greater Good.

Death Triggers: A list of the cards that reward us for our creatures dying over and over, again and again.

-Poison-Tip Archer, Syr Konrad, the Grim, Moldervine Reclamation.

Necromancy:

Reclaim the dead and force them to do your bidding!

Arise!: Single time recursion effects.

-Acolyte of Affliction, Golgari Findbroker, Doomed Necromancer, Young Necromancer, Dread Return, Find / Finality.

Grave Robbers: Reclaims what we need from our graveyard whenever we need them to.

World Shaper, Tortured Existence, Whisper, Blood Liturgist, .

Win Conditions:

These are the cards that well... win us the game!

enter image description here

-Lotleth Giant: This big boy is the real deal. He comes in and annihilates who ever we wish. Then if the first time was not enough then we bring him back. Again, and again and again until all who oppose us are nothing but distant memory's!

-Syr Konrad, the Grim: Wha-who-wha- I can’t even wha- this card is insane it kills our opponents for just doing what we do.

-End-Raze Forerunners: Well it’s no Craterhoof Behemoth but it’s still a nice overrun effect we can recur out of our graveyard at any time. Combine that with how many tokens we can make with Izoni, Thosand-Eyed you bet we can easily overrun all of our opponent’s defenses!

Been having quite a bit of fun with this list and hope some of you will too.

Appreciate any feedback or suggestions.

As always happy draws!
