Maybeboard

I saw the Beamtown Bullies spoiler and knew I had to build around it.

The goal of the deck is convoluted but straightforward: Rip through your deck with draw/discard spells, get your targets into your graveyard with enablers or by discarding, give them to your opponents, and destroy them before the exile themselves at the end of the turn, so you can repeat the process.

The deck can be broken down into four main categories: Draw/Discard, Graveyard Enablers, Removal, and Targets.

Draw/Discard

This is pretty self-explanatory. Just a bunch of red card-cycling, the best of which are Faithless Looting and Shattered Perception, since they have flashback. These will let you rip through your deck to find the pieces you need.

Graveyard Enablers

Instead of drawing everything to find the cards you need, why not just go find them? A mix of spells (ex. Buried Alive and Final Parting, since sometimes you actually want certain cards in your hand) and creatures (ex. Corpse Connoisseur and even Oriq Loremage for a repeatable effect), to give you a variety of enabling resources.

Removal

Beamtown Bullies exiles creatures that you give to your opponents at the end step… but not if you remove them before the end step. So I’ve packed in a bunch of instant speed removal. There are, of course, cheap removal spells, like Victim of Night and Cast Down. But there’s also repeatable removal, like Avatar of Woe. Royal Assassin and Despotic Scepter work particularly well in this deck. Plus some non-creature spot removal staples like Ancient Grudge.

Targets

Now for the meat. Which creatures are so horrible, you’d only give them to your worst enemies? There are the single card wombo combos that mess up your opponents entire deck: Eater of Days, Leveler, Inverter of Truth, and Hellcarver Demon. There are also a couple options that may provoke some table politics: Phyrexian Negator and Ebonblade Reaper.

Finally, there are a couple sweet combos: Boldwyr Heavyweights + Opposition Agent make sure only one person gets a free creature (hint: it’s you). But the big sweeper is Bronze Bombshell + Thornbite Staff on your commander to instantly kill any one opponent. The kicker is, you don’t even have to use removal on Bronze Bombshell to get it back.

Ramp

Not much in the way of ramp here, but we don’t really need too much (although Hired Giant is technically ramp!). Just a few staples: Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, Cultivate, etc.

Support Pieces

Your commander is the lynchpin here, so there are a few ways to protect him. The usual hexproof enablers: Heroic Intervention, Lightning Greaves, etc. I also provide a few ways to untap him so you can give your opponents creatures on each of their turns! These are Quest for Renewal and Magewright's Stone. Saruth, the Viper’s Fang accomplishes both of these support roles.

And finally, your combo, may not always work out. You might not have the removal necessary to recall your creature. Or an opponent may target you and remove your graveyard, so I’ve included Riftsweeper and Orbs of Warding to help.

I tried to keep this as budget friendly as possible. Though the mana base still makes up about $50, so you can get this down even more by replacing that. There are some really nice non-budget-friendly pieces in the maybeboard, that I would definitely include if price is no issue.

Let me know what you think, or if you have any recommendations!
