Maybeboard


Two pillars of every magic deck are, typically, required in order to actually play a fun game. Mana production and card draw. This deck has those in spades and is built to win off of them with Maze's End or perhaps switch to using Torment of Hailfire or even Villainous Wealth. Wealth is less predictable but can still work when you exile an entire library xD A third pillar of decks I find highly needed is removal so I've included a solid base of that. And that's pretty much all there is. Nothing really going on outside of drawing cards, making mana, and removing select targets or very occasionally wiping the board. Pretty slick in my opinion and often makes for a really hard to deal with deck for opponents when the strategy is so self contained.

Further the commander, Nine-Fingers Keene has menace and a combat damage trigger which tends to work together pretty well. I could add some things to help her trigger even more. So that's something I may consider in the future. Then there is Ward - pay 9 life. That is honestly ...one of the best wards I've seen. I do 9 life loss to someone for targeting my commander. I'll take it. Almost 1/4th of the starting life total to remove her and in a deck where recasting the commander is a non-issue. Could even make something like Erebos, God of the Dead a worthy include to make that ward even nastier in certain match ups. Though, I may be overestimating it somewhat. Suppose I'll find out. Should at least be nice against Zacama, Primal Calamity that a friend uses a lot, 18 life to remove little ol' Nine xD Notably though ward counters spells and abilities so if opponents use a "can't be countered" it will ignore the ward ability entirely from my understanding.
