My 2016 EDH deck - revamped for 2022! use commander Brion Stoutarm to Fling your opponents creatures with cards like Act of Treason, and if you're lucky - use Bazaar Trader to keep them!
I've tried to keep this deck nearly 50% White and 50% Red.
I've narrowed the premise of this deck down to the following categories, 50 Cards to the first, and 10 cards to each other category, give or take.
50% of the Deck is the Commander, Land, Mana rocks, and Draw.
10% is Steal/Keep
10% is Removal/Wipe
10% is Bringing Cards Back
10% is Brion Fodder and Fetch cards
10% is Double Damage and Powerful Flyers
Your comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated. That being said, I will probably not be able to afford the more expensive cards Land Tax, Smothering Tithe, Lifeline, Smuggler's Share etc. that are not already in this deck. However - It's still fun to check them out! If you like it, up vote!
With this revision, I've cut many of the fancier, slower dual lands to opt for faster basic lands. I've also added Weathered Wayfarer.
I've removed cards that target artifacts and enchantments like Kami of Ancient Law, instead opting for better utility cards like Quarantine Field that target "nonland permanent".
I've made some recent changes to this deck, hopefully to address that mid game I am struggling with tempo, as well as running out of mana to cast the creature or steal spell and have enough to activate Brion's ability. Some cards like Deathrender and Thornbite Staff have been removed (even though they were good in concept) to add more playability.
I also found that after all the sacrificing, mid game I was running out of defense, so some additional creatures have been added with dual purpose, such as Angel of Sanctions and Emeria Shepherd.
Fiery Emancipation gives me triple damage. Calamity Bearer works specifically to Brion's sac ability. Angrath's Marauders, Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, Gratuitous Violence all make the damage I do twice as effective.
When creatures I steal die, Stalking Vengeance beefs them. When I summon large creatures into play Warstorm Surge deals damage to my opponent, and when I sac those, Stalking Vengeance hits them on the way out.
Malignus, Serra Avatar, and Soul of Eternity all act as giant bombs to throw at the opponent.
Hofri Ghostforge allows for me to steal an opponents creature, fling it at them with brion, and then keep a spirit copy of that creature.
Magus of the Wheel and Reforge the Soul provide the opportunity to get a fresh hand at my whim. Humble Defector is an easy and fun, card that helps me forge alliances with other players in multiplayer while getting me TWO extra cards per turn.
Skullclamp works perfect with the sacrifice ability and is easy to cast.
Well of Lost Dreams is insane when played late game for Brion's lifelink ability and can be fetched with Hoarding Dragon or Open the Armory Sin Prodder gives me a potential extra card per turn, or the chance for an opponent to take damage to the face... and then I can pull it out of my graveyard later with my other cards! Basically a win/win. Mangara, the Diplomat and Mila, Crafty Companion Flip serve to deter attacks and draw.
Hoarding Dragon serves as a flyer, a sacrifice, and can grab any rocks, Skullclamp, or Well of Lost Dreams.
Open the Armory helps grab Skullclamp, Well of Lost Dreams, or Gift of Immortality.
Recruiter of the Guard is specifically to get Bazaar Trader for the huge advantage of keeping my opponents things, but can also grab Duergar Hedge-Mage for removal or Sin Prodder (amongst a few others). Weathered Wayfarer can grab any land, such as Buried Ruin or Arcane Lighthouse.
Boros Cluestone, Commander's Sphere, and Mind Stone are all serving as early ramp and later card draw.
Sol Ring because Sol Ring.
Archon of Justice is quite powerful in this deck, as it allows for a flying creature, then a source to sac, and remove a card permanently.
Angel of Serenity gives me the option of 3 recursion or 3 removal.
Duergar Hedge-Mage can be played and replayed in this deck for knocking off annoying enchantments or mana rocks.
Magus of the Disk is one of the board wipes.
Grasp of Fate, Oblivion Ring, and Banishing Light all allow for really flexible removal. Same for Quarantine Field except allows for extra targets for more mana. Chained to the Rocks works the same, but only for creatures. Angel of Sanctions works similarly, but is a creature. Ryusei, the Falling Star really just acts as weenie removal and a sac source from a flyer.
Bringing them Back (and sometimes keep it!):
Adarkar Valkyrie Sac an opponents creature, then get it permanently!
Bazaar Trader Take it with a steal and keep it!
Angelic Renewal Sac my own creature, get it back! Gift of Immortality Sac my own creature, get it back... again, and again!
Emeria Shepherd play a land, get a card! Play a Plains, get a creature to sac!
Mistmoon Griffin Flys, defends, and sac-able, then get back a creature from the graveyard!
Squee's Embrace fun and easy to play, and retrievable with Tragic Poet.
Tragic Poet, a low mana cost creature to get any enchantment in my deck back for any reason. Fun with Squee's Embrace, Angelic Renewal, etc. Returned Pastcaller a flyer that lets me grab a Threaten or Breath of Life. Angel of Serenity gives me the option of 3 recursion or 3 removal.
Stealing their Creatures:
Captivating Crew steals every turn! No wasted card space here, just a reusable sorcery.
Conquering Manticore powerful flyer, that steals!
Zealous Conscripts You can steal anything! Anything! Lands? Mine. Artifacts? Mine. Works great with Bazaar Trader.
Act of Treason, Portent of Betrayal, and Threaten are all basic steal spells.
Malevolent Whispers, Mark of Mutiny, and Traitorous Instinct all give me steal with buffs for Flinging.
Harness by Force allows for more than one thing to be taken if the extra cost is paid!
I'll be the first to admit, these don't reallllly fit in with the deck. But they're so awesome it's hard to remove.

RoarMaster on Mistmoon Griffin + Teysa interaction

So say I have an Ashnod's Altar out, sacrificing Mistmoon Griffin while having Teysa Karlov also in play.
Is it infinite mana? Or Infinite mana and all creatures back from my grave? Or neither?
Mistmoon Griffin s wording is a bit different from most, as it doesnt say "If you do". Gatherer says it will return a creature even if its not in the grave upon resolving.
Mistmoon dies and hit the grave, which causes an additional mistmoon trigger. Stack the copied ability second as to resolve first. The copied mistmoon trigger resolves and returns the top creature to the battlefield, which is the mistmoon. Mistmoons 'real' ability now resolves even though mistmoon in back on the battlefield, returning the next top creature in the grave to the battlefield. This nets you 2 mana, the top creature in grave and Mistmoon back on the battlefield.
Am I understanding this correctly? Mistmoon can still return a creature, even though it is not exiled with its own ability?

Props for not going easy mode with Edgar Markov.
As for suggestions, the best thing I think you could do to improve this deck is to make it more explosive. The way to do that would be to add free sacrifice outlets, along with creatures that provide you multiple bodies.
For bodies, I would add Hallowed Spiritkeeper, Lightning Coils, Belfry Spirit, Promise of Bunrei, Teysa, Orzhov Scion, Sorin, Lord of Innistrad, Sorin, Solemn Visitor, and Pawn of Ulamog.
For sac outlets, Viscera Seer, Indulgent Aristocrat, Bloodthrone Vampire, Bloodflow Connoisseur, Cartel Aristocrat, Blood Bairn, Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter, Vampire Aristocrat, and Yahenni, Undying Partisan are good vampire options. Sadistic Hypnotist, Dimir House Guard, Spawning Pit, Hidden Stockpile, Mind Slash are also good. What's important is that you can go off all at once. You want to sac a bunch of creatures to grow Elenda and sac her the same turn.
The other challenge you'll want to keep in mind is that Elenda, the Dusk Rose must go to your graveyard to get the trigger. That means If you want to recast her, you'll have to reanimate her or exile her from your graveyard. Bojuka Bog, Relic of Progenitus, Angel of Finality, God-Pharaoh's Gift (and Gate to the Afterlife!), Skeletal Scrying, Rescue from the Underworld, Necromancer's Covenant, Cremate, Seance, Planar Void, Goryo's Vengeance, Postmortem Lunge, Purgatory. Despoiler of Souls, Mistmoon Griffin, Purify the Grave, Offalsnout, Coffin Purge, Drudge Spell, Cryptwailing, Treacherous Vampire, and Consecrate / Consume, Angelic Renewal, Karmic Guide, Reveillark (the prior two being an infinite loop combo), Dread Return, Nim Deathmantle (there are combos with it and Ashnod's Altar, which you also want), Palace Siege, Bloodline Necromancer, Profane Command, Unburial Rites, Faith's Reward, Ever After, Ajani, Adversary of Tyrants, Hell's Caretaker. Apprentice Necromancer, Wake the Dead, Second Sunrise, Infernal Offering, Corpse Dance, Zombify, Resurrection, No Rest for the Wicked, and Footsteps of the Goryo, are all good options.
The final piece of the puzzle is making your sacrifices devastating. Dictate of Erebos, Butcher of Malakir, Grave Pact, Black Market, Harvester of Souls, Midnight Reaper, Grim Haruspex, Zulaport Cutthroat, Open the Graves, Blade of the Bloodchief, Ogre Slumlord, Athreos, God of Passage, and Dark Prophecy will help with that.
Teysa Karlov could also be very good in this deck with all the death triggers. Nothing wrong with good old value creatures like Solemn Simulacrum, either.
You could also use a few tribal things like Kindred Dominance, Konda's Banner, Cover of Darkness, Vampire Nocturnus, Vanquisher's Banner, Path of Ancestry, and Metallic Mimic.

simplebricks on Pauper Reanimator

I have been brewing different takes on reanimator (most private) and playing against myself using another deck on this site, most decks didn't make the cut due to being incosistent. In my opinion the main problem of reanimator is the prevalence of blue in the format and bounce spells like Vapor Snag. If at least your crusher died you could exhume it back, having it in your han on turn 3 is bad, really bad. That is why the for latest iteration of this archetype I moved over to golgari Tortured Existence using Songs of the Damned and drege/Pit Keeper to relentlessly place little guys into the battlefield. I have more cretures than they have removal/bounce/counters so in the end the board is mine. Crypt Rats help wrath away boards and players and Gnaw to the Bone makes sure there is no chance for an aggro deck to kill before I have everything set up to win.
There are other reanimator spells such as Breath of Life and Mistmoon Griffin of dubious legality in paper and Unearth and Stir the Grave for pretty much anything but big-fat-fun creatures.
My personal recomendation is that you brew the deck however you prefer but forego that many big eldrazi. Gurmag Angler has great synergy with discard and fetch-lite lands like Ash Barrens or Terramorphic Expanse. It also dodges doom-blade which is nice. If you splash blue you can have Striped Riverwinder which dodges targeted removal and happily jumps into your graveyard on command. In Rackdos colors you have Horror of the Broken Lands with synergy for discard Ingot Chewer for affinity and some other fatty with cycling or evoke I don't remember. Personaly I would also drop cathartic reunion as the heavy control meta makes it read "discard 3 cards including a card named cathartic reunion and spend 2 mana to bait a counterspel". Also if you are running red and discard for your reanimator list Dragon Breath can easily make you win a turn earlier and dodge all that pesky sorcery speed removal and letting your oponents untap.
Have fun with the deck, I would be very interested to see where this takes you as I haven't tried brewing Rakdos reanimator...yet.

Thanks for checking it out! Mistmoon Griffina common, you can check that on gatherer. It of the Horrid Swarm is a funky include I actually really like, since it works as a fun sac outlet to the griffin, and is surprisingly flexible as far as shaping your creature pool to what's going on in the game. It being pauper, edicts are abundant, so the tokens can really come in handy! There's probably something better, but I find it works nicely.
Great to see anyone taking an interest, I think there's potential for funky stuff like this out there!
Bif_Slagthor on B/W Ayli commander, suggestions welcome

Well, to start you have no lands. Lands are kinda important, as they let you, you know cast spells? :) Anyways, you are very, very creature heavy, and many of these creatures do not inherently help "Ayli" plan, or are "filler" creatures, that don't do much of anything. You have very little card draw, like none at all, so add thing like, Mind's Eye, or my favorite, Read the Bones, so you don't end up top-decking. Alright, so, now I'll give a list of creatures I think you should cut; Blind Hunter, Butcher Ghoul, Blistergrub, Carrier Thrall, Doomed Traveler, Dross Harvester, Exhumer Thrull, Gavony Unhallowed, Lingering Tormentor, Mausoleum Guard, Mistmoon Griffin, Necroskitter, Restless Apparition, Shambling Goblin, Soulcatcher, Summoner's Egg, Swarm of Bloodflies, Twilight Shepherd, Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter, Screams from Within, Seize the Soul, Benediction of Moons, and Cry of Contrition. Oh, and I want to reccommend EDHREC.com to help get the creativity flowing too. Hope this helps, and tag me or message me if you want more advice.

Thanks! Actually, I have done some pretty awesome moves with Mistmoon Griffin, even if it's only to double play a Duergar Hedge-Mage so he will stay.I am trying to figure if Gratuitous Violence is too big a drop to throw down. I would probably go for destroying Lightning Greaves or removing it from the game, then Oblivion Ring Angel of Jubilation. As for the Sigarda, Host of Herons you're correct. One reason I am trying to squeeze in something like Earthquake however if she were the commander, I would be in trouble.
