This is my mono black deck. While plague and pestilence are the scourge of most creatures, Korlash flourishes in such landscape and will lead your army to victory!

I usually start the game by establing card drawing to build my mana base, And play multiple threats and various board wipes until the end game when everyone is out of resources and their Commander usually died 2 or 3 times.I bring in Korlash to finish off my opponents.

I rarely cast Korlash right away, I wait until I know my opponents can't deal with him in the late game. So in this fashion I find him better then Erebos, God of the Undead or Sidisi, Undead Vizier. I know I can always rely on Korlash to be a big beat stick at the end with no other support card needed to make him a credible threat.

I have a lot of colorless removal for Iona, shield of emeria and enchantments. Cards like Ugin, Spirit Dragon, Karn Liberated are colorless and will exile a lot of Irksome permanents that black may have trouble with.

Oblivion Stone and Nevinryral's Disk are Board wipes that Korlash can regenerate and live thru.

Perilous Vault is my ultimate reset button to exile all non land permanents. It is very useful if my opponent has Avacyn, Angel,of Hope, Sigarda host of herons and Iona Shield of Emeria in play,

I use pestilence and pestilence demon to clear planeswalkers and smaller blockers to give a clear path to Korlash, or at least force the opponent to block with a substancial creature and not just a mere token.

Pestilence Demon with Whip of Erebos or equipped to batterskull allows me to gain a lot life.

I am planning on adding a Phyrexian Arena soon and perhaps Withering Wisp which is a Pestilence like enchantment that cost 3 mana, but you may only use snow-covered swamp to power it.
