Grenzo of Cell Block D

Commander / EDH*

Xeroshifter

So the basic premise is that the deck uses Grenzo, Dungeon Warden as the commander, and uses his ability to play some otherwise expensive effects for relatively low mana. Grenzo does this while not drawing as much hate as other options like Jhoira. In exchange Grenzo's effect is somewhat random and also wont affect non-creatures.

Grenzo has three categories that other commander decks may not have quite as much of: Fixing the bottom of the library, Sacrifice the things to replay them, and straight up burn.

I've played about 12 games with this deck in order to try to analyze how it currently plays out most of the time, and I've found a few things: Grenzo generates a lot of card advantage, I don't have enough enchantment removal, I don't have enough recursion for non-creatures, and my burn isn't quite strong enough.

I'm starting to wonder if maybe the deck is just trying to do too many things, or if perhaps the burn is in-conflict with much of what Grenzo does and how he would typically win in another player's deck. I love the somewhat random and more chaotic nature of the deck in some respects, but I want to make the deck more effective.

My play group is typically just myself and two other players, one of whom ALWAYS plays Kambal life drain with heavy enchantment support, which makes burn difficult and tempts me into running infect, and the other player bounces between a modified Kalemne 2015 precon, and a Skullbriar deck focused on regeneration and indestructibility. So once again wither/infect is starting to sound tempting.

When I do win at the moment its typically by recurring Fanatic of Mogis or Gray Merchant of Asphodel, playing and sacrificing them multiple times in a turn. I've won once via commander damage, but voltron isn't really where I want to head with this deck. A big part of why I built this deck to begin with was because out of the 4 commander decks I had prior to this deck's construction, 3 of them had blue, and the deck I was originally planning to make next ALSO had blue. I realized I had a bit of an addiction so I'm trying to step out of my comfort zone a bit and learn to play more aggressively.

Please help me modify this deck into the chaotic and aggressive monster I know it can be.
