Sideboard

Maybeboard

I built this deck from the Hour of Devastation Bundle Pack, hence the abundance of HOD cards. All other non-HOD cards I took from Booster Packs as well. Its an ambitious White-Red-Blue-Black deck, with a wide array of creatures and spells. Ultimately, the main themes of this deck boil down to zombies and sending your opponent's cards to the graveyard (mostly milling), with a dash of exiling anything deemed too dangerous to be in the graveyard at that moment. With five Planeswalkers to boost firepower, a diverse selection of spells, and a little luck with the lands, this deck is sure to wreak Devastation on your opponents.

That being said, I'd like some thoughts and opinions on the deck, since I haven't played it enough in real life to get a good feel of its possible weaknesses yet.

So, a couple of notes: This deck favors the user who plays the long game, because the long game should allow you to get enough lands and spells (but really lands) to start getting serious. Make use of certain cards' cycling mechanic, and cards like Strategic Planning, Sunset Pyramid and Supreme Will to plan ahead and draw the cards you need faster (or just draw more in general). Cards like Doomfall and Hour of Glory can exile any pesky creatures that can't be destroyed by normal means. Manalith and Traveler's Amulet can get you more mana faster. And then you have your trump cards.

Fraying Sanity + Jace, Memory Adept + Jace's Erasure = With Jace's +1 ability, that's already 6 cards from your opponents library down the drain in one turn. With his 0 ability, thats 22 cards down the drain. His final ability (if you target both yourself and your opponent) will kill any opponent with a deck of 60 cards or less. The only reason Sphinx's Tutelage isn't here instead of Jace's Erasure is because I haven't gotten the card in real life yet. Nahiri and Sorin's + abilities will also help this combo mill faster, as well as get you to draw cards.

Hour of Eternity = Your first ace when it comes to the zombie aspect. This allows you to turn your dead creatures into 4/4 zombies with the same abilities, at the expense of them being exiled. Generally use this if you want to make a big push, and you don't mind not being able to call them back with Liliana. You should probably avoid using this on Akoum Firebird though, because it nullifies it's recall ability.

Liliana Vess = Your second ace when it comes to the zombie aspect. She can have players discard, help you look for cards that you really need, and her ultimate call creatures from both your graveyard and opponents' graveyards, assuming they're not exiled. Meshes REALLY well with the combo mentioned above.

Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh = Need I say more? :3

The sideboard and maybeboard offers interesting selections as well. Call the Gatewatch and Djeru, With Eyes Open allows you to pluck a Planeswalker from your deck, and cards like Archangel of Tithes and the Oaths benefit you having Planeswalkers. The Locust God creates flying insects for every card you draw. The Scarab God is essentially a mini Hour of Eternity. Liliana's Mastery boosts all your zombies on the battlefield. Hour of Revelation and Hour of Devastation sweep the board of anything that's not a land. Cruel Reality and Cruel Ultimatum are just plain mean.
