Djeru - White Planeswalkers

Commander / EDH*

Tivoko

A casual mono white deck focused around planeswalkers. While I consider the deck casual it has been putting up good results for me on MTGO, winning 5 of my last 7 matches. The deck can fly under the radar of some because Djeru is not a common commander and people think that being restricted to only white planeswalkers is a big handicap. The truth is that the white walkers are some of the best at defending themselves and while we do miss out on some of the sweet cards from other colors such as Doubling Season and Oath of Tefferi white does still have access to Rings of Brighthearth and the Chain Veil to abuse planeswalkers with. Combine with other ways to defend our walkers and sweep the board when necessary, this deck has shown me that it can battle well.

If you're looking for a good casual deck I think this one works well, it's mono color so the mana base is fairly cheap and the strategy of the deck is fairly straight forward and not complicated to play.

The most expensive part of the deck is the artifact mana and if you can't afford it that's fine, they aren't necessary and really only serve to make the deck try to compete with more competitive groups. These artifacts are also much cheaper online than they are in paper which makes them no brainers to include there. If you can't afford the Mana Crypt do not worry, a Worn Powerstone is just fine. Replace Mox Diamond with Mox Amber for a cheaper alternative, it does mean some less explosive starts but should be fine for those working on a budget.

Since this is a walker list and walkers are not always cheap you may consider cutting some, most of the key ones are fairly cheap and the expensive ones are more a luxury than a necessity.

Originally I included Armageddon and Ravages of War to close out the game once I stuck a few planeswalkers but I cut them to make the deck more casual friendly, if your play group doesn't mind these cards I would put them back in for sure. Ravages is expensive still in paper I believe but Armageddon has been reprinted a few times and should be fairly cheap to pick up.
