When I first say Grothama I immediately fell in love with it. What this wurm brings to the table is so weird and so unique that I had initially I had no idea how to built it. Now that I thought about things I could do with the wurm and goldfished the deck over and over I suspect this wurm is going to become my new favorite general.

This deck's primary goal is to generate value out of Grothama's fight ability. This means either somehow abusing the fight mechanic or using it to draw a ton of cards. Of the two the fight mechanic abuse is the more interesting so lets start there.

The most powerful card in this deck is Vigor. Vigor lets every one of your creatures fight Grothama and get a huge boost in power(equal to Grothama's power). In return Grothama's power is boosted by each of the creatures who fight it. Note that each fight trigger is resolved separately so Grothama will trigger Vigor, and get bigger, in between each fight. Even with a small board state this will often by enough to end the game.

Next we have Foe-Razer Regent. Foe Razer regent lets you sacrifice small creatures into Grothama's maw to boost its power. The trigger to get two counters is a delayed trigger, however, so you have to be careful not to send too many creatures to their death. Death's Presence and Rite of Passage can be abused in much the same way but I've found them to be much weaker than the dragon.

This deck runs a full package of graveyard recursion in Eternal Witness, Skullwinder, and Greenwarden of Murasa because Grothama allows you to easily kill your creatures to later reuse their ETB effects. The ability to reuse ETBs is at its best when you have Lifeline on the battlefield. As long as Lifeline is in play and at least one creature is still alive you an wipe and recur your board over and over for value.

Broodhatch Nantuko and Druid's Call allows you to make a bunch of tokens by fighting Grothama. In testing I found this effect is only just okay so I cut the 4 CMC ant creature that does the same.

Basilisk Collar allows you to gain a bunch of life and importantly kill Grothama with a fight so you can draw cards if needed.

The following cards are included just because they have a high power or potential for a high power so you can beat Grothama and draw cards: Masumaro, First to Live, Mossbridge Troll, Multani, Maro-Sorcerer, Psychosis Crawler. I plan to add Ghalta here too, possibly cutting Spearbreaker Behemoth(which I've found underwhelming).

Another great way to draw cards is Myojin of Life's Web. Because of his counter he survives combat and allows you to draw 8. You can remove his counter to play any creatures you got for free. Do note that this will probably kill Myojin of Life's Web as he still has damage marked on him.

Azusa, Lost but Seeking, Elvish Piper, Oracle of Mul Daya, Norwood Priestess, Wayward Swordtooth are all includes as they help you play lots of cards out of your hand when you draw many.

The remaining cards are largely green edh staples, removal, protection, or ramp.
