I have never been all that big on tribal decks, but when I saw Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign spoiled I knew that the tribal deck for me was out there.

This deck will not win CEDH games, but holy crap is it fun. There isn't even much of a wincon outside of combat damage, but holy crap is it fun.

Sphinx's have a great selection of card texts on their bodies. Play the top card of your library for free? Arbiter of the Ideal can do that. Take an unexpected creature from your opponent's deck? Sphinx Ambassador can do that. Play mind games with your opponent to cast spells for free? Master of Predicaments can do that. Just about every Sphinx has card text worth talking about, but these are my favorites by far.

Panharmonicon synergizes well with our commander, giving us two mini Fact or Fictions per Sphinx while Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign is out. As well as hilarious ETB triggers such as Chancellor of the Spires and Sphinx of Uthuun (Why not four Fact or Fictions?). With blink effect cards like Argent Sphinx and Deadeye Navigator we can Fact or Fiction our entire library away!!!

We also have insane card draw engines in Consecrated Sphinx, Sandstone Oracle, Sphinx of Lost Truths, Sphinx of Magosi, Windreader Sphinx, Kindred Discovery, Vanquisher's Banner, and Blue Sun's Zenith

With a good set of mana acceleration and cost reduction the ceiling of our deck lets us play these expensive creatures for 2-3 mana!

After playtesting this deck a few times, I am considering putting in Time Spiral, Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre, or Laboratory Maniac as additional fail-safes because this deck can sometimes do its job too well. Possibly Palinchron to have an infinite mana source.
