Maybeboard

An experiment in creating character from a commander deck -- Specifically a D&D character I've had come to mind:

Verde is an ex-adventurer who hung up his pack to set up a bar for old warhorses like himself... Except he had no skill in making ale, but a lot of connections for procuring items both useful and necessary to would-be heroes and adventurers. The Green Lion was converted into the store it is today, a known haunt for frugal-minded sellswords and those seeking gossip, scandal and rumours along with hard tack and lockpicks...

What does the card selection tell you about Verde's past? What do you think his journey was in youth and what caused him to retire into the life of a shopkeep?

(The Maybeboard is good cards I had to cut to make room, or thematic cards that didn't quite cut the mustard...)
