Pretty good! It would obviously benefit from Arcbound Ravager, Steel Overseer, Mox Opal, and the lands, but it's a great budget deck. +1

Since you already have some mana fixing, you can run some blue and Thoughtcast for some draws, as well as Padeem, Consul of Innovation for hexproof and draws. For some reason i think Sword of Vengeance could help.

I would like too keep the mana base simple, but I like the suggestions. Sword of Vengeance could be interesting.

None of your black mana requirements are things you always need (Scrapheap Scrounger), but double white for Tempered Steel seems important, so I would shave a swamp for another plains.

Inventors' Fair seems poor in a deck as aggressive as this. If it is gaining you a substantial amount of life, you're probably losing anyway. The Contested War Zone you have in the maybeboard might be a better fit.

Overall I really like your list. Great take on Budget Affinity!

I love this idea! +1!

Ghostfire Blade might be good in this also did you think about the original affinity cards like Frogmite ?

I like Ghostfire Blade as well as Frogmite. I will have to consider them.

I am not sure about Contested War Zone, catrule3564. It seems like a risking card to run.

What a beautiful deck, +1!

There is nothing I'd change except maybe swapping a Tempered Steel for another Chief of the Foundry, simply because the latter has arms and can swing for damage too (I realize there is a loss of +1/+1, but it's not a big deal considering you're getting another creature out there).

I've got nothing new to suggest other than, as you've got a bit of mana floating around thanks to Springleaf Drum, would you consider adding Steel Hellkite, which is excellent for removing tokens because you can make X = 0. Also, Scuttling Doom Engine is good for the lols too.

I am glad you like the deck. Steel Hellkite would probably work better as a sideboard card because if things are going well I have won before I can cast it.

Yeah I was thinking Sideboard actually. It's a great deck and if the $ were forthcoming I'd purchase it for myself and surprise my Meta.

If you remove Hangarback Walker and Spire of Industry, you will nuke the cost of the deck.

Ha! No it's not that, it's just that I'm designing too many decks that I want to buy the cards for. I've got a friend who has just bought a bunch of Snapcaster Mages, Ancestral Visions and 3x AEther Vials for his Esper Deck - crazy money!

Indeed. Crazy Money.

For budget decks, I like Lupine Prototype as it can attack / block quite quickly, it also enables running Stubborn Denial as a great counterspell. Inventors' Fair seems not good, maybe you should go rainbow manabase with Gemstone Mine or even Tendo Ice Bridge, it will help to cast your spell without Mox Opal. Also have you tried the white bird Glint Hawk? It is not an artifact, but it is a great menace with evasion.

Kidchaos2084 says... #17

Lupine Prototype is not overly helpful with a reliable way to discard. Glint Hawk is worth consideration.

Blinkmoth Nexus would be a great addition to this

I was originally going to suggest getting rid of Tempered Steel because of how hard it is to cast in Affinity but if you don't have access to manlands anyway, I'd recommend swapping the Inventors' Fairs for more Plains and cutting the Swamp for the fourth Springleaf Drum. This will provide the recommended color consistency of casting Tempered Steel.
