A budget green counter deck that focuses on ramping up counters while utilizing the naturally built up devotion for your endgame.

Hardened Scales matches up nicely with Servant of the Scale, Avatar of the Resolute , and Bond Beetle to grab extra counters as you ramp up to Fangren Firstborn and Reverent Hunter , which are obvious plays in this deck.

Garruk's Companion, Avatar of the Resolute , and Skarrgan Pit-Skulk help you deal direct damage after being pumped up with counters from other creatures. Or swing with Aspect of Hydra for massive damage.

Alternate strategies include reusing counters with Servant of the Scale and Bioshift to keep the pressure up, even if you need to block.

Garruk's Companion and Leatherback Baloth help add meat for the devotion endgame. Swing with Aspect of Hydra and/or Solidarity of Heroes to really make them pay.

Other Counter Shennanigans

Consider one Hardened Scales. Now consider two, at the same time. Avatar of the Resolute gains 3 counters for EACH other counter creature when cast. Fangren Firstborn gives 3 counters to EACH creature when it attacks (including itself).

Creature about to die? Save its counters via Bioshift, or do the opposite and put counters on it from another creature to keep it alive. Transfer Reverent Hunter 's counters to Skarrgan Pit-Skulk and swing with an unblockable creature. Not to mention that every time you use Bioshift or Servant of the Scale's transfer ability with Hardened Scales out, you gain an extra counter in the transfer

Opponent's creatures got you down? Facing an impenetrable wall? Remove that threat with Prey Upon after pumping up your creatures for the final blow
