Nature's Panoply

Instant

Strive — Nature's Panoply costs {2}{G} more to cast for each target beyond the first.

Choose any number of target creatures. Put a +1/+1 counter on each of them.

I agree with MaRo about strive too. Boring, expensive ability that requires a lot of set up to get the most of it.

But that's only because they chose to design the cards that way. The ability itself does not inherently create these problems. Consign to Dust didn't have to cost to cast and an additional per extra target. I'd hesitate to reduce the primary casting cost to avoid a strictly-better Naturalize (though those already exist now so whatever I guess), but per extra target!? FFS that could have easily been and the card would be fine imo. Maybe if you're trying to be conservative about it. But is just absurd. And this is a consistent issue with these cards, and it's not a problem with the ability itself, it's a problem with the design philosophy that was in play when they designed them. I mean Nature's Panoply come on

Honestly the 5 strive cards IMO we are missing are Strive Mind Control, Polymorph, Flicker, recurr from GY and targetted sacrifice

Creature destruction? Damage? -X/-X? Protection? "recur from GY" can be done various ways on various targets. Artifacts, creatures, instant/sorcery, to hand, to battlefield, etc. The only Strive Bounce spell only targeted Enchantments ffs.

Cards like Double Negative, Swift Silence, and Summary Dismissal have been printed, so I see no reason a goofy Strive Counterspell couldn't have been made.

Either way, they're definitely in a position where bringing this back is unlikely. You're not going to excite people with the return of a mechanic that floundered the way this one did, regardless of if it was an issue with the core concept of the mechanic or the design and implementation of it.

I know it's sorcery speed, but Thrive is substantially cheaper than Nature's Panoply if you're using it on multiple targets. Neat deck!

I like what I see so far. The land count seems right. I see many staples that I'd like to see. I'd like to see Path of Ancestry, Darksteel Pendant, Reclaim, Entourage of Trest, Mutant's Prey, Hunt the Weak, the two green cycle lands, Explorer's Scope, Village Elder, Crown-Hunter Hireling.

To make room I would look at the following to take out: Sizzle, Welder Automaton, Wrap in Vigor, Withstand Death, Blinding Fog, Jolrael's Favor, Nature's Panoply, Might Beyond Reason, Saddleback Lagac, Dragonscale Boon.

It's always nice to see new faces in our community :) Welcome!

There's a couple of underwhelming creatures in there is my first thought; namely Ninth Bridge Patrol, Countless Gears Renegade and Kujar Seedsculptor. Not to add too many more into the Maybe list - but I think Oviya Pashiri, Sage Lifecrafter and Mentor of the Meek are worth considering.

An easy upgrade to Feat of Resistance or Ornamental Courage would be Heroic Intervention to catch your whole team. Righteous Charge could be improved upon - Collective Effort maybe. Similarly, you could switch Highspire Infusion for something with a bit more reach. The 'strive' cards are mana intensive, maybe someone's got better suggestions but... Solidarity of Heroes, Colossal Heroics, Nature's Panoply.

I know you are over on cards at the mo anyway but there's a large proportion of lands so if you're aiming at a similar ratio you'll want something to make use of that (Savage Conception?)... or just drop it down a bit... or add more card draw to get to your gas/impact cards.

Also, the 'fog's seem a bit unnecessary?

I feel like I've caused more questions than answers for you haha! Sorry :)

I made a deck with Silverfur Partisan as well some time ago, if you want to take a look at it i can link you to it, it is about 50$ as well, so it might have some budget cards you could be interested in.

I think Silverfur Partisan + Zada, Hedron Grinder is an amazing combo and should be considered if you try to pump out wolf token for good.If you dont want/have Zada, i think a neat option is to incorporate Strive spells into the deck. Cards like Twinflame, Colossal Heroics, Nature's Panoply, Setessan Tactics, Harness by Force and Rouse the Mob come to mind if you want to get more than one trigger out of one card.

Warriors' Lesson also gives you more than one trigger, and draws you cards as well, so i think that might be interesting to you as well.

The other option i see is to splash white by adding Jungle Shrine instead of Rugged Highlands and perhaps one more Evolving Wilds and 1 Plains instead of 1 Forest/Mountain each, to gain access to cards like Watchwolf, Reap What Is Sown, Seeds of Strength and Travel Preparations and powerful sideboard options like Condemn or Feat of Resistance

I hope some of my rambling was of help to you =)

Also Thrive instead of Nature's Panoply

I would definitely add Ordeal of Heliod for aggro or Ordeal of Nylea for ramp. Also, just replace Nature's Panoply with Hardened Scales. You will be getting +1/+1 counters easily every turn. Basically, make a Hardened Scales deck.
