This deck is a Rakdos-colored () build, committed to Garland, Knight of Cornelia   as the rightful ruler.

Give in.. to Chaos! ..CHAOS..!

We will face down the opposition with swift, graceful take downs. The final curtain will fall when we return from the grave, stronger than before- or should I say.. again and again!

After revisiting the concept of Garland and making time to comb over all the newly printed cards, I have found that Garland best upholds a shell of a spellslinger, with reanimation subthemes.

At your initial encounter, Garland doesn't strike you as someone very Adept with magic, but by the events of the game's end, you realize he is a powerful Sorcerer with many minions.

The formula for success is different with each deck is different- isn't it?

In this case, I'm including a few ramp spells like Desperate Ritual in order to bump our spell count, increase the number of times we Surveil, and ultimately set up a win condition.

Underworld Breach and Lion's Eye Diamond are in the deck, so if I so desired I could add Rograhk, Son of Roghahh in order to have an infinite ETH trigger- but that would require definitive and consistent sacrifice potential.

Instead I've chosen Grapeshot and Tendrils of Agony which are on brand for spell slinging.

The remaining cast is all about spot removal, situational awareness, and capitalizing on how many spells we've cast.

Garland, Knight of Cornelia  Flip has been spoiled through several sources. I'm beyond excited for one of my favorite villains of all time (in any media I might add). This drafted list is prior to construction, more so just theorizing around his existence and what I would like to accomplish. I encourage all users to provide feedback on the casually-driven nature of the deck as it sits, but remember just that- it's a tower of popsicle sticks and it means nothing until the cards get printed.

I'm really looking forward to when the full set drops later in June (2025). For now, I insist that a knight sub-theme is a fun avenue for me to pursue, and that surveil through savvy spell choices and a tight casting formula will lead this deck to victory. It exists as a strange voltron shell, but not quite focused on it enough. More of a "awh jeez this guy came back AGAIN" kind of feeling with all of the recurrence.

Elated by the Final Fantasy set, and would love to hear from you if you feel similarly. Cheers! (please don't forget to upvote!)
