Hey y’all, this is my take on Thada Adel, Acquisitor . I received her in a box of bulk rares when I first started playing edh. She started as a budget deck, but after several cards in here kept climbing in price ( Sword of the Animist , and Knowledge Exploitation specifically) I decided to drop the budget and really let her klepto tendencies shine bright.

I’m still testing how much land type manipulation I need in order to make sure Thada is always unblockable. Often times cards like Reef Shaman , Tidal Warrior , or, my personal favorite, and the most disruptive by far, Quicksilver Fountain can also be used to deprive opponents of colors they need. This helps control the game and keep their threats minimal until you can just outright take them.

I sought to find a good balance of spells that will steal various permanents in play; Confiscate , Take Possession , Steal Enchantment , etc. and ones that will take control of a threat before it ever enters the battlefield, such as; Bribery , Commandeer , Gather Specimens , or Aethersnatch , the latter two can completely blow out a game depending on what you hit.

Thada Adel, Acquisitor plays multiple roles in the deck, being a key ramp piece, combo disruption, and even a win con herself if equipped with Blackblade Reforged or Umezawa's Jitte . Jitte does a TON of work in this deck; allowing thada to deal enough damage to end a game, being spot removal, or even buffering your life if you took a few big hits early game. Such a clutch card!

Card advantage comes mostly in the form of cards like Curiosity , Rogue's Gloves , or Reconnaissance Mission , though I have really loved having Peek and Gitaxian Probe to see what kinds of things I should hold up counters or steal spells for. Thieves' Fortune and Notorious Throng are great and very flavorful. There is technically an infinite turn loop that’s possible with Crystal Shard + Archaeomancer + Notorious Throng , which I don’t typically use as infinite turns are the one kind of infinite combo that I truly dislike. I may as well play by myself at that point. It is there though, in case you REEEAAALLY hate whoever you’re playing with.

This deck is a blast to play, and is very versatile and has interesting paths to winning, between your own deck and the decks you play against.

I look forward to any ideas, input or advice that you may have. Thanks for checking it out!
