Budget upgrade for the 2019 Precon Merciless Rage, leaning more into the self discard strategy to drain or ping the opponents out. This can be done most effectively with Syr Konrad, the Grim but also with other pingers such as Psychosis Crawler, or Glint-Horn Buccaneer. This strategy is backed up with reanimation to target the key creatures and pieces to reuse Anje's free discarding of madness cards to accrue more triggers for the aforementioned pingers, done with cards such as Bag of Holding, Alhammarret's Archive, Tortured Existence, or Shadow of the Grave.

This deck, despite having the high density of madness cards required, does not run the Worldgorger Dragon combo for reasons of price and how the deckbuilder wants to win.

However, through deckbuilding, it was found that this deck does contain two combos within it that are currently inside and functional. These combos are both via Tortured Existence, as when there are a madness creature in hand and a madness creature in the graveyard, they can be looped for each other for B, essentially giving each card in hand "Cycling: B":

Bone Miser + Tortured Existence : (4BBB) This uses Tortured Existence in order to cycle land away to trigger Bone Miser's abilities, producing BB for each land cycled, and using that to cycle away other cards until the entire deck is drawn and discarded, with a lot of black mana available, then winning through something such as a Songs of the Damned + Underworld Breach to produce more mana and an outlet such as Torment of Hailfire or Syr Konrad, the Grim, or landing one of the multiple pingers in order to kill the opponents.

Songs of the Damned + Tortured Existence + Underworld Breach : (1RBB) While being more fragile and hard to set up, this alternate combo will give the same result as the one above, drawing the entire deck and netting mana in the process. This combo requires there to be at least 3 creatures in the graveyard in addition to the ones required to use Tortured Existence to give cards "Cycling:B". Once Underworld Breach and Tortured Existence is on the battlefield, Songs of the Damned can be cast for at least four black mana. Three of this mana will be used to activate Tortured Existence to cycling away 3 cards and the last to recast Songs of the Damned through Underworld Breach to repeat this process, eventually netting more creatues in the graveyard in order to net mana off of each successive cast of Songs of the Damned.

Mausoleum Secrets Tutor Line: A Mausoleum Secrets in hand can be used to assemble the second combo shown above with the addition of thirteen mana. This is down through using it to find the transmute 2 card Shred Memory (2), which is then transmuted for Underworld Breach (2+3). This Underworld Breach is then used to recast Mausoleum Secrets twice (5+2+2x2) to find both Tortured Existence and Songs of the Damned to hand. When both of these are cast, the loop can begin (11+1+1=13).
