This is my 5th commander deck built from scratch in the last couple months since getting back into the game.

I'm just digging around my cards looking for inspiration.

Enter:

Rakdos, Lord of Riots He's a badass, and has pretty cool abilities to build a around.

Started very rough and broad, been narrowing it down nicely.

Lots of regular damage from all kinds of triggers.

Things like. Hand size punishment from all around. (I've always wanted to build around these pain artifacts.)

Scalding Tongs, Thumbscrews, Rackling, Shrieking Affliction

Creature ETB: Impact Tremors, Trespasser's Curse landfall: Tunneling Geopede attacking me: Blood Reckoning Killing my creatures: (even if I do it) Kheru Bloodsucker

(I know a lot of this doesn't really help with Rakdos ability to cast colourless creatures for free but it's just lots of recurring damage, so I'm not completely reliant on the big guy....until I can give my artifacts/colourless flash.).... (that right there was the moment I began changing this into an artifact/colourless deck instead. Rakdos, Lord of Artifacts )

Ways I can control the damage. Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Nettle Drone, Skirsdag Supplicant, Stuffy Doll, Tymaret, the Murder King.

Pestilence for regular cheap damage and a little bit of control.

Curse of Bloodletting to ramp it up.

I also like the idea of useing Noetic Scales for some board control I can theoretically recover from faster than my enemies. With my Hammer of Purphoros for example. Though this is completly untested

Graveyard recursion to bring big stompers or other etb stuff back. No Rest for the Wicked, Gravepurge, Phyrexian Reclamation, Fortuitous Find

Some ways to get small amounts of life to pay for life cost abilities, and to just keep me alive. Bontu's Monument, Staff of the Death Magus, Golem's Heart, Tomb of the Spirit Dragon

I know Ring of Three Wishes is pricey, but I can pay 5 for a 9 cost artifact, I could then drop for free. Plus it's one of the very few mythic I own, so I want to use it.

Looking foraward to using Mogg Cannon on someone dumb like Colossus of Sardia, and then not having to worry about untapping, then bringing it back with the recursion stuff.

Made some cheap purchases to lean WAY into the artifact/colourless angle.

Mana generating artifact creatues: Bronze Walrus, Palladium Myr, Foreboding Statue  , etc.

Colour making non basics: Archway Commons, Crystal Grotto, Gateway Plaza, etc

some more recursion: most notably Skeleton Shard and Scrap Trawler

some more pain causes, Flayer Drone Molten Nursery

A couple biggers guys with added utilities: Bosh, Iron Golem and Maelstrom Colossus

And some extra utility. Jhoira's Familiar and

Shimmer Myr so I can play free shit on others turns.

Dream combos/potential win-con

Slap someone with Gruesome Slaughter + Stuffy Doll while 2 or 3 big guys are in the field. Laugh maniacally.

Something like. Let's say Rakdos is in play. I cast Dominator Drone, now opponants have taken 6 total. Cast a big guy like Phyrexian Colossus for 3 (possibly less) Cast Fling, followed with some grave robbing. A free Workshop Assistant perhaps. And cast the big dumb idiot again. Maybe with a friend who was chilling in the graveyard with him. Even better if Hammer of Purphoros is already on the board.
