Baldur’s Gate 2 has been a top 5 RPG of all time for me so after seeing Jon’s lovely face get printed, here’s my take on Jon Irenicus, Shattered One.

I wanted to keep the deck as fast as I could and have decent interaction early game, but enough artifact ramp to get Jon out early (and often if necessary) and get the goad party started.

Heartless Summoning works wonders for casting the nasties for basically free while it’s downside is negligible since we don’t plan on keeping our awful downside creatures.

The Clone suite is actually so I can try to achieve a Phyrexian Vatmother or Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon battle royale amongst my opponents. They double as copying really good creatures my opponents actually have out.

Feign Death, Undying Evil, and Slip Out the Back are for keeping Jon around through destruction.

A few counter spells go a long way, as with spot removal.

Play-testing begins 9/4, will update with adds/removes as I try to figure out how to keep this thing fun but competitive within our playgroup.

Thanks for looking!
