Mirror Strike Discussion

My favorite are the three that skip damage prevention and redirect instead. Thereby allowing your opponents to take lethal commander damage from their own commander. Although that is a rare occurrence unless you pump their creatures first. Reflect Damage, Mirror Strike & Glarecaster.
I love these effects so much that the first deck I built ended up being split into 3. Each emphasizing different mechanics The bigger they are, the better they fall damage and spell doubling with Deflecting Palm, The Game of Houses (Daes Dae'mar) a more political redirection where I work on building up my opponents creatures and trying to take them out with commander damage from their own commanders, and a Stuffy creature based one with Feather at the helm which I just realized I never added to tapped out. Check them out if you'd like!

Hello I am tuning my deck towards utilizing Backlash , Reflect Damage , Delirium , Mirror Strike , & Glarecaster . I am finding frequently that their creatures are not big enough and would like to find some cards to increase the power of my opponents creatures.
I am avoiding the use of damage doublers as I have another deck which focuses on that. Overblaze is an exception.
Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance! (I am currently slogging through the gatherer)

You could perhaps redirect the damage instead of preventing it entirely but you would preventing it from hitting you which would help boost your Selfless Squire. I'll try keep to the white theme for you as much as possible but what I have found is: Captain's Maneuver, Empyrial Archangel, Hazduhr the Abbot, Mirror Strike, Sivvi's Valor - I'm not sure on the play of this but my assumption is that damage may start targeting the above creatures so that they may target you instead, so this instant could have that damage target you which you could then activate one of the previous cards to have it target them? due to the low cost of the instant of course as there are other creatures out there that you can have the damage target another target creature such as Oracle's Attendants for example. Turn the Tables is an excellent way to have the opponent punished for attacking. As mentioned above, I think Azor's Elocutors could be a great Win Con.
As you can see there are quite a few examples of what you could go with. I have just used http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?action=advanced&text=+%5Bwould%5D+%5Bbe%5D+%5Bdealt%5D+%5Bdamage%5D+%5Btarget%5D+%5Bcreature%5D+%5Binstead%5D+!%5Bprevent%5D&color=+%5BW%5D (I'm sorry, I'm still new here and I can't figure out how to use the link function lol) and i'm sure that you could find something among this list that might be of more help to you :)

precociousapprentice Most of the combinations are 3+ combos in this deck although there is a lot of cross synergy. I have been delightfully surprised by how often this deck wins and who it wins against. It does not fare well against cEDH though...
I completely agree about the mana base. Although Traveler's Amulet and Wanderer's Twig rarely slow me down. I definitely find them superior to tap lands as I get solid land drops and color fixing. I have been gradually upgrading the mana bases if my decks and this one is next in queue. I rarely find that i don't have the mana to play my spells though. I believe the card draw from Marchesa mixed with fetching so many lands helps a little with that.
I think Tainted Strike is one of the cards you might actually like! It is not usually for your own creatures. It is for when an opponent is attacking another opponent turning a non lethal attack into a game changer. Although it does have some other applications. The Boros Reckoner as you meantioned and the similar friends, Mogg Maniac, Spitemare, Stuffy Doll but also Harsh Justice, Mirror Strike, Backlash (which I go back and forth having in the deck) but my absolute favorites are Arcbond, Coalhauler Swine, and Heartless Hidetsugu with a protection/redirection spell out. all of these get increased with the damage doubling effects out.
After reading what you wrote about Aikido, I have been thinking about what I could add to make it more political. Do you have any recommendations? This deck is much more about tricking my opponents into attacking me and dissuasion through them knowing I have tricks. With all of the Damage doubling and especially with Repercussion out the intensity of the game goes through the roof as all attacks if they go wrong can go wrong quickly and in a big way. I do love the adrenaline that this deck brings to the table and how quickly they games can go. In that way our decks are very different I think.
Thank you for the upvote!

More important, Deflecting Palm prevents the damage and then deals the same amount to the creatures' controller. So it never deals infect or commander damage.
Mirror Strike on the other hand just redirects the damage to the controller, so that a commander could deal 21 dmg to its controller or an infect creature could deal 11 infect to its controller. While this may be a cornercase it is a really sweet one at least.
But in the usual situation where you are beeing attacked by a non-commander creature without infect, Deflecting Palm is more efficient, yes.
