Niko9 on How Is She Carrying All Those Weapons?

Such an awesome deck! Equip strategies can be so fun, and here's a few that I've found pretty useful in my equip EDH deck.

Explorer's Scope is either amazing or terrible just depending on if you're an optimist or pessimist : ) But seriously, it's not uncommon to get 2-3 lands off it over the course of the game, starting on turn 2, and what I really like is that it smooths out your draws by getting any top deck lands just into play during the battle phase and then you draw only gas while still hitting your normal land drops.

Leonin Shikari is great for things like Swiftfoot Boots Lightning Greaves or Thran Power Suit to protect creatures, but also works with the swords to move around pro-colors. And it also just gives you a lot of room to move around +/+ effects in response to things or to lock multiple things down with something like Leonin Bola

Hedgewitch's Mask this one has been an overperformer for me so far. Especially on a first strike creature that is 4+ you will just be eating mana dorks up. Though this might be more specific to my equip deck, it just really works there.

I think it looks great : ) I mean, what's better than gearing up creatures for an adventure...well, a, beat up my opponents adventure anyways.

DespairFaction on Budget Equiptment

Hey, here are some changes I might recommend while still staying on a budget. Fist, for a voltron deck I would probably drop the creature count a little bit as 29 is a little high. For this build I would probably eye something around 22-25. Also your land count is very low, I would bring that up to about 36 lands with several ways to search for lands, that will allow you to have plenty of mana and cast the bigger stuff in your deck.

Next, I would cut some cards that seeming underwhelming. Those are: Auriok Edgewright Auriok Bladewarden Fireblade Charger Leonin Relic-Warder , Evra, Halcyon Witness Shimmer Myr Spikeshot Elder , Wayfarer's Bauble ill talk about this one below, Leonin Bola Neglected Heirloom  Flip Berserkers' Onslaught . So yeah once you know what to cut, it becomes very easy to make a bunch of additions.

Im not sure if you are married to the $50 budget, most of my suggestions here will be about $1 a piece but here's what I would add. First as mentioned we want better mana production, so you'll want Gift of Estates and Armillary Sphere over wayfarers bauble. In 700 games of commander, I've found that armillary sphere is just better than bauble for many reasons I wont go into right now. Fervent Champion , Sun Titan Kazuul's Toll Collector , 4 basic or flip lands, Flamekin Village Blackblade Reforged . Berserkers Onslaught can be a straight switch for True Conviction . Fleetfeather Sandals . Because your mana production is getting better, you can go just a little bigger on the top end of your deck. I might put 1 or 2 bigger equipments at the top end like Argentum Armor or maybe even a Scytheclaw . I would add Dismantling Wave and a Tome of Legends .

Here's some other very good cards on a budget that I might consider Forging the Tyrite Sword to cheap tutor, Ignite the Future excellent card draw Showdown of the Skalds also great card draw. Theres a whole package of cards you can use with Goblin Welder Goblin Engineer and Daretti, Scrap Savant and if you add those I would add a Neheb, Dreadhorde Champion . Because you have Toralf I might consider a few more red based board wipes like Chain Reaction or Magmaquake but i wouldnt say no to a Fumigate or a Rout either.

Anyway that should give you plenty to think about for now. Enjoy!

ivesro, Mulldrifter is good when its alone, without ability to tutor. For example, i can draw much more cards with Tandem Lookout + Crypt Rats . Or i would better defend my Rhystic Study and Mystic Remora with another counterspell instead of Mulldrifter .

Leonin Bola Is nice idea. Its so cheap, i never think about it. What slot it can be put to? Instead of what?

Good luck you with multiplayer thing! Its gonna be awesome to frick your opponents out with constant Rhystic Study on table.

AhabDownUnder, Most easiest way to play this deck - have OP card or weird fish on table and see what random will give you in hands.

Good card with cmc 5 is Mulldrifter

For tapping DoD, you can use Leonin Bola

Neurok Stealthsuit is too good to be in maybe board

This is my main pdh deck now and I am doing lot of testing. 1v1 pdh went terribly wrong this deck, but we are playing multiplayer next monday so I am excited. :D

I think this is a really close one and might come down to your meta.
@Podkomorka I like your choice of ETB creatures and share your evaluation of token producers. Your deck seems to be better at grinding your opponents out since you run more Man-o'-War style creatures and card draw. Your deck seems to offer more different angles of attack with the inclusion of heavy beaters, the Peregrine Drake combo, a way to go wide and the possibility to go Voltron (although rumpy excels you in the latter two categories). Despite what I've written so far I think I would cut Gearseeker Serpent and Amass the Components for more interaction cheap interaction.
@rumpy I think you can make a strong case for your deck being more optimized due to a way lower avarage CMC (2.80 compared to 3.39). Species Gorger seems to be a mana intensive general which makes me think one of the goals in building this deck should be to have a pretty low curve (although I might be wrong since I neither piloted it nor played against it). It also seems to be a good general to go Voltron but I think you should focus some more on protecting it if you want to go that route with cards like Elgaud Shieldmate or Shielding Plax or give it trample Pathbreaker Wurm. I think I would also up the amount of card draw by a little. I also prefer your choice of including at least some fight spells in order to kill creatures but I disagree on your assessment of Leonin Bola. I'd rather run Lignify against Voltron decks even though it can't be tutored via Trinket Mage.
After looking at both lists I think I prefer Podkomorka's list by a smidge but this is rather a choice of preferred play style than power level.

Some of the spots you bring up are somewhat debatable (Leonin Bola due to the voltron heaviness of the format, Seal of Primordium as there's only so many creature based ones and I felt I needed more), but on the whole agree to disagree. I run a lot of the Rampant Growth ETBs, but I take some my ramp in a more efficient direction with Dawn's Reflection et al, which is more explosive in a two-colour deck while retaining flexibility. Put 'em on a forest, get Arbor Elf value. I'll take my Gatecreeper Vine over your Gearseeker Serpent any day, as early game utility, Gorger bounce'ability in a pinch and just plain making land drops is better than a nondescript shielded vanilla beefslab (and that's even though the Vine and the Ranger are indeed some of the weaker spots on the whole). Multani's Acolyte is also actually good, not quite Elvish Visionary tier but gets work done with Gorger out. I also find it amusing how I run everything apart from Peregrine Drake from your attempt to list your deck's strengths, including a higher density of ways to make Gorger larger and connectable, including a Trinket Mage toolbox and a wizardcycling toolbox. Feel free to silently pillage some more stuff and keep your list as the "optimised" one.
