Gild

Sorcery

Exile target creature. Put a colorless artifact token named Gold onto the battlefield. It has "Sacrifice this artifact: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool."

Gild and King Macar, the Gold-Cursed, who honestly I have always wanted to build but was never sure how to approach it.

I tried a tapdance deck but that's mostly going to need blue or red, which makes him a secret Commander and a combo finisher. I was looking to run him as the face of the deck, which severely limits the decks functionality.

Black doesn't get exile this cheap, even with downside. If you would give it to them, the color would take over some of White's main strengths. The downside is mostly negligible based on the format.

In Commander you have 40 life to take from, so if the opponent gets to achieve a high power creature where this is your only removal choice, you're in trouble. But in 99% of cases, it just costs you a small amount of life, which black happily does in so many other aspects of the color.

In Standard you'll only target stuff that doesn't cost you too much - but the alternative is often to take the combat damage to the face. If the meta is dominated by big power creatures, you run destroy removal, and possibly this as SB if WotC decides to make a stronger Bronzehide Lion.

In Eternal formats you SB it against creatures where the cost is negligible or where it disrupts your opponent's combo.

Also... Tragic Slip exists and that is how Black usually does removal that bypass indestructible, but it is conditional when it's this cheap.

Black is usually tied at 4 CMC for unconditional exile removal, as seen in Eat to Extinction, Gild, Deadly Rollick. The last one having a conditional situation where it's free, specifically for Commander.

Black does get lower CMC exile, but they are conditional on the target: Epic Downfall Legion's End or Grotesque Demise. Or Infernal Reckoning.

White is and should be the king of cheap flexible exile, or it loses one of its few strengths.

Need more variety in your free sacrifice generation. Don't worry, I'm here to make tons of terrible and unnecessary recommendations! I'm just going to throw them down in a list instead of coming up with a little blurb for why each one is good (you're smart enough to not need that).

Smothering Abomination , From Beyond , Awakening Zone , Revel in Riches , Pawn of Ulamog , Catacomb Sifter , Emrakul's Evangel , Rapacious One , Spawning Bed , Spawnsire of Ulamog , Vile Redeemer , Brass's Bounty , Contract Killing , Curse of Opulence , Gild , Gleaming Barrier ... cont'd.

Out: Gild --> willst nix exilen sondern in den Graveyard packen, Springleaf Drum --> zu langsam und du willst nix tappen, Ghostly Prison --> geschmackssache muss nicht sein hast genug gute Kreaturen zum blocken, Death Grasp --> besser wäre hier Debt to the Deathless bring lieber alle um als nur einen, Bontu the Glorified muss hart drum herum gebaut werden besser wäre der neue bontu God-Eternal Bontu , Overseer of the Damned --> zu langsamer removal und zombies kommen tapped rein meh, Pontiff of Blight --> Extort brauchst du nicht bzw. das ganze gibt es billiger in Tithe Drinker .

In: Anguished Unmaking + Utter End + Despark + Swords to Plowshares --> typisches Removal Package in Orzhov, Selfless Spirit --> sehr gut weil protection von wipes, Golgari Thug --> kann rein füllt graveyard, Enlightened Tutor --> wenn du ihn hast perfekt findet Skullclamp, Living Death --> hervorragender Boardwipe für dich, Viscera Seer --> immer gut zum saccen, Pawn of Ulamog --> sac futter und ramp,

Rest hast du schon drin.

multimedia thank you for your input. I did think of adding Smothering Tithe and Anointed Procession to the deck but i wasn't going to add white just for two cards however i forgot about Teysa Karlov . and also im not just making treasure tokens i am also making Gold tokens and while adding red for just Curse of Opulence wouldn't make much sense many pirates that make treasure token are also in red as well and with the black treasure making pirates and Revel in Riches i could keep Gild and King Macar, the Gold-Cursed . Now i know that mixing both gold and treasure tokens wouldn't be as effective as just a treasure deck, in which case I would of done Zur the Enchanter . But thats not what i want. So that why im stuck an either grixis or jund.

Im trying to make a deck based around gold and treasure tokens. I wanted gold since Gild and King Macar, the Gold-Cursed came out, unfortunately wizards drop gold in favor of treasure instead so I'm combining them to make what i think would be a "Greed" themed deck. I've been debating between Grixis or Jund as blue would help make more treasure but green would help make more tokens in general with access to Parallel Lives , Doubling Season and Primal Vigor
