This deck was originally built as a Marrow-Gnawer deck focused around spamming rat colonies. It still is; but now in sultai with Damia, Sage of Stone.

Biggest problem with the original build is that a rat colony is not very impactful. They get swole, but with only 1 toughness and no trample, it's very easy for them to be chumped and for you to lose all your board presence, which makes it hard to keep pressure up. Though, on the flip side, you have similar issues if you keep them back to block. To top it off, Marrow-Gnawer needs at least 2 other rats on the field to accomplish anything. Without haste, that's also assuming he survives.

All that being said, I like the deck and it would make some very impressive field and close games. To help the deck out, I wanted to rely less on Krinko Rat Boss and more on maintaining a hand and card advantage (previous games were often decided by whether or not I got Necropotence out). So now I got Damia to keep my hand filled, Bloodbond March to keep bringing my rats out, Kindred Discovery and similar effects to replace rats as I play them, and just some green land ramp. Because green land ramp.
