This is a blue/red control Commander deck with Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind as general. Honestly, the deck got its start as a collection of decent (or at least interesting) U/R gold cards I'd set aside to one day be able to use with a Volcanic Island and Scalding Tarn I had put in other decks. I picked up a Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind in a pack of Magic 25 and decided there was my U/R Commander. This deck won't win any tournaments, but I figure if I have the cards, I may as well have some fun and get some use out of them. The deck is not an infinite combo build, but designed to take out creatures and win with card advantage. Basilisk Collar + Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind is an unpleasant combo of which to be on the receiving end.
